How confident are you that we will beat UM?

    9. This bye week is huge IMO. Getting back Fowler,Hoover,Treadwell and Hicks is big, and the offensive line gets some time to gel. Their defense still isn't good other than Minnesota teams have moved the ball on them, and plus its a home game. I'm very confident in this one.

Question. Do you realize that B1G teams have a losing record in conferamce games following bye weeks?

Before you speak, Walverine, know that on the RCMB everyone, even a non-associated bandwagon fan of an opposing school, is responsible for the words of their voice. Now...what you fail to realize is that Dantonio is 1-1 at MSU coming off of a bye week. The 1 loss was against a better team and the 1 win was against a weaker team.

Since UMAA is a weaker team, it only follows that the trend continues under Dantonio.

    8.5

Better Team Home Field Hostile Crowd (NW will be about 50% scummers) D will swarm like it did against OSU UM D not as good as OSU's Bye week at a good time to solidify O-Line and work on timing.

10 just would not be realistic as turnovers and big plays can go the other way, but as I said against Ohio State, I think we would have to beat ourselves to lose. Cousins will play better at home and hopefully our O-Line will start to Jell.

Exactly. As we have seen many times in the past, weak teams can win on any given Saturday.

I believe we are the better team and despite the current win streak, 2004, 2005, and 2007 are eternally burned into my brain.

Yeah I do. I still think that it is huge for us getting back Hoover and Fowler. Didn't realize until after I posted that Hicks was out. Like I said as well, this give the o line another week to work with each other which is huge.

  • I'm at about an 8.

We've got the bye week to help shake off any nagging little injuries. There will be a raucous home crowd. Defense has been stellar so far this season. Bell is running like a man possessed.

    And oh yeah...Denicos fuckin' Allen.

Because time ran out before they had a chance to come back.

    And the field was crowned.

  • If you look Michigan's defensive and offensive statistics from last year and compare them to this year they are almost identical.

Except for ND they have beaten a bunch of cream puffs at home which includes Minnesota that gave up 37 points to North Dakota State!

ESPN is reporting Persa is starting for NW and I think Michigan has a very good chance of loosing this weekend on the road.

Unless the offense turns the ball over repeatedly we should win by two TD's.

    I give us an 8.

    5. As much as we don't like to admit it, they have gotten better.....Especially on defense. If we can Shut Robinson down and make him throw, We should win. If he gets loose, and is able to move the ball, we lose.

We got exposed a lot at OSU

we got exposed at OSU? lol

the only thing that was exposed at OSU is the fact that we have the best overall Defense in the Big Ten. We are BETTER than last year, when we completely contained shoelace and forced turnovers. We will do the same thing this year and win going away.

That is just flat out wrong on defense.

  • In 2009, State was 1-3 coming off an absolute ass whipping @ the hands of Wisky going into the M game.

State utterly dominated that game save the last few minutes and held M to like 30% of their rushing average?

2011 defense is better than 2009 and I think the offense starts to click.....7 / 10

    TDot20273

  • I don't know...7? I'm basically assuming we can score more than 13 points at home against a half-decent defense, even though we've yet to prove anything of the sort. I just can't imagine the tire fire on offense will continue against Michigan at home. I think if it were in Ann Arbor, I'd be at a 3. The venue makes all the difference, as I think playing them at home is the difference between 30 points and 14.

Cool story. For the record, I think MSU will win and is a better team. But to say UM's defense is statistically equal to last year is incorrect.

Well, if you could fucking read, I said that UM hasn't played a defense as good as ours. No, ND's defense is not as good as ours.

The only good offense UofM faced this year was Notre Dame ... and they gave up 513 yards of offense!

MSU's defense held Notre Dame to only 275 yards.

So... what has UofM's defense done? ... An abbreviated game against Western Michigan in terrible weather conditions...shitty Minnesota...utterly lame Eastern Michigan? ... an injury-riddled SDSU?

Michigan's defense might be better this year... But I haven't seen any evidence yet to support it...and neither have you.

  • Gotta say, michigans defense is aggressive and the sycophants all say the players are "in position" but they just lack the horses to stop a good offense.

    Damn it.

They have to stop BJ, Baker, Bell, Sims, K Mart, Caper...too many options when they blitz Cousins.
