I'm was hoping the team could pick up some steam the next three games with wins over UM, IU, and Iowa....and then march into Madison with some confidence. Of course, that was before all this Korie stuff happening....

Well, as it was going, it was going to be a mediocre season, we'd back into the NCAA, and hope for some Izzo post-season magic. Korie was getting some 24.5 minutes a game. How those getting divided will be interesting, and it's not like someone (Kebler, Thornton, etc.) is going to now take all of them. I still think the season hinges on what it has always hinged on - a healthy Lucas being a true PG leader, Summers becoming a more complete player who plays all of his minutes with intensity, and Green being more of what he is. The rest are role players who need to play their roles. The role players haven't been the issue. Green hasn't been the issue. So there it is. The hope, which isn't entirely unrealistic, is that this gives Appling more of a role, who has shown the expected offensive skills while surprising with his commitment to defense. We'll see what happens, but I don't see how this makes us worse.......

How many people just don't give a shit and will wait to see how March plays out?

Honestly, an 11-2 football season has taken the sting out of this basketball season. We went through these kinda seasons in '05-'06 and '06-'07 and we had to deal with JLS football.

The end is not near.

Turn it around in terms of making a run at a Big Ten title and making a run towards another Final Four... NO

Turn it around in terms of finishing in the upper third of the Big Ten (3rd or 4th), making the tournament as a 5-7 seed, making a Sweet 16... YES

I think this will galvanize the team and finally bring them together, force them to play harder. But we don't have the level of talent depth (especially at the guards) any more to match anywhere near the expectations we had at the beginning of the season.

I think it can go either way. Tenessee had distractions this year and their season went in the toilet after some impressive wins over ranked teams.

The program has been at varying levels of chaos for nearly a year. I am not sure there's a turning point out there. I just hope the team plants its feet and fights to the end, and that the off-court issues cease.

There's already been too many "turning" points this season...I'm going to wait and see.

Roe will continue to be a warrior. Green will continue to have flashes of brilliance mixed in with screwing up from trying to do too much. Summers and Lucas are already mentally checked out. Thornton, Kebler and Sherman will continue to provide nothing at best, 10-0 opposition runs at worst. Nix will be solid for the 2 minutes a game he gets. Appling and Payne will continue to develop and get better with each passing game.

What's it add up to? Same thing we've seen all year. Let's hope to get to 10-8, get in the dance and keep the streak alive for some new blood next year. This core has given us some great memories and has accomplished a ton, but they've flamed out. Let's just hope the damage they leave behind this season doesn't tarnish their legacy and set the program back for their successors.
