great topic. food prices are going up, and kids eat a lot!
Family of four in Austin. I am pretty sure we spend about $800 a month. Dropped costco so this is all HEB (TX supermarket chain - awesome and great prices). My kids are 5 and 9. We only eat out about once per week. Steer clear of most prepared/convenience foods. Wife need to go shopping 2-3 times per week it seems. It seems like a lot to me...but it costs what it costs

man I need to take some tips from some of you on here. You guys get buy cheaply. Family of 4 and we spend approx $260 per week for food and household items (paper towels, cleaning stuff, etc). Its not like we eat steaks every night. Most of our meals are some sort of chicken or pork, a veggie, and a salad of some sort. Cereal, milk, snacks, more milk, fresh veggies and fruit, some beer, ice tea, bread, lunch meat. That pretty much sums it up for this household weekly.
