IU should be ashamed of that final dunk!

  • Hard for Spartans to speak ill of the play. See 1979 NCAA final against Indiana State. Kids are kids. I have no issue.

Bit of a poor comparison, no?

How is that a bad comparison? 3 secs left, game over, could run out clock but dunks for the exclamation point?

I'm not saying its wrong cause I don't think it is. But I don't understand how it's a bad comparison.

What the statute of limitations on that stuff, Kelser's dunk was over 30 years ago.

One game signifies the pinnacle and end of a basketball season and tourney. The other is a mid-season game between two teams that may not win their conference.

If a team wins it all, they earn the right to cap it with exclamation point (within reason).

Pretty sure PortlandSpartan is talking about the annual Spring Creaning.

I'm guessing this refers to him getting players to transfer? Is IU the only program that does this?

Probably not. But they're just as slimey as the others that do it.

    Why not? Clock run out?

I watched the ending on my DVR after the BTN replay this noon.

It's a high camera angle from the nosebleed seats, so you can not see the official game clock behind the backboard glass. Oladipo dunks with about 0.4 seconds on ESPN's clock, and the backboard has not lighted up as of yet. The camera then cuts to Crean walking down the sideline to shake B_________'s hand and the ESPN clock still shows 0.2. I cannot hear the horn over the crowd noise.

ESPN put up the points to make it 83-73, but I see in the official results today that it is reported everywhere as 81-73.

Makes no sense why they took those 2 points off the scoreboard. Whether you feel Oladipo shoulda done it or not is irrelevant; the ball definitely cleared the net well before the clock ran out and should have been scored officially.

Agree. And Crean looked pissed that Oladipo did that.

Good thing the betting line wasn't +8.5

most coaches would be. SCummer's will make a big fucking deal out of it for the rematch. It was good, the bald bastard at the scorer's table however was emphatic that it wasn't RIGHT away and waived it off. Meh, Oladipo bent them over most of the game, if they don't like it they should D' him up next time. Their excuse machine is already in full motion anyway: 1) Stauskas had the flu 2)Morgan was hurt 3) they are all butt pirates and were up late servicing each other 4) you get the picture

I saw that.. well, I saw Crean pause before the handshake and look back sort of pissed (I thought at first is what TV Teddy ditching the handshake and smacking him on the shoulder, but the angle wasn't right).

Yeah technically the game isn't over. Should still be 0.2 seconds left at least. I took a picture of my tv but it isn't worth posting.

Not sure what Oladipo was thinking, but I wish the camera hadn't panned out so I could see the dunk better haha.
