    Hell no. I know we're better than them, that's why I don't want them being able to call themselves champs.

    I believe in embracing the rivalry. Saying um's fortunes do not affect ours is not realistic.

    But more than anything, I remember how badly they were cheating for decades, and I wanted their title futility to continue.

  • I think most people on this board care more about scUM losing than MSU winning. Some of you people are fucking pathetic. If someone told me MSU would win the National Championship but scUM would win the B1G outright I would take that in a heartbeat.

    (A distant) 2nd comes UM failure.

    MSU being tied for 1st place with UM is a thousand times better than being tied with them for second.

    Here are the in-conference schedules for the three co-champs (teams only played once):

    MSU: Illinois, PSU, NW, Iowa; sum of RPI rank = 408
    OSU: Iowa, PSU, Purdue, Minn; sum of RPI rank = 407
    UM: Minn, Wisc, Iowa, Neb; sum of RPI rank = 379

    MSU played the toughest schedule. Every team we played twice is going to the tournament. Michigan didn't have to play the RPI #20 team twice. All 13-5 records are not equal. We get dealt the toughest hand with the least experienced team and worked hard for that co-championship. I don't give two shits about UM basketball. Our team deserves a banner for this season, and the fact you want to take it away from them just so UM doesn't get one is terrible. You are not a good fan.

    What this tells me is next year we should get a break in the schedule over scUM.

  • Meh, I am obsessed more than most and I'd rather raise a banner than not. To win at least a share given where Korie and Chris put us last year, I'll take it. Do I like it? No but this team is still a champion.

    I just wish UM would have had to go to Kohl...
