Illini's Leonard entering NBA Draft

  • MooTheKow said...

Pretty sure his decision was largely the result of his family's financial situation. Specifically - his mom has back debilitating back issues that basically have her house-bound that she can't get fixed due to lack of money/insurance.

Meyers also said he didn't want his brother to have to reinslist and go back to Afghanistan.

Most NBA decision-makers also would have taken Darko in the same spot that Dumars did. How did that work out?

    pretty good for Darko

My impression of Leonard is that he's very skilled, but an overgrown infant. I wish him luck, but I really think he should've stayed, another year would have done him much good. I wonder how much getting a MAC coach affected his decision. The illini are screwed. This does open a spot for Jabari Parker, but I don't see him going there.

I agree. He has a boatload of potential, but needs at least one more year.
