Inge: Designated For Assignment

  • Go Green Girl said...

The RCMB doesn't understand human compassion. Only anonymous and indignant rage.

Pretty easy to rip people behind a key board. Nobody here would do it to his face or think about how much he is hurting mentally. He make millions and let us down. Fuck him and his wife and kids.

Don't the Tigers have to pay the rest of his deal? If so, that's quintessential Dumbo.

I'm not going to bash Dombroski for Inge. He made a decison based on Inge good defense and marginal bat. After coming back from mono Inge had neither.

Dombrowski also got Cabrera, drafted Boesch, Verlander, Porcello.

The Tigers aren't Boston or th Yankees with unlimited wallets so their mistakes are less obvious.

    Holy Shit!

Ilitch posts on tRCMB under the name "GhettoHeisman"

Not our problem, brother. Mr. I wants those post season games.

Also. I'm sure Bobby, Jaun and Gary can console Inge in the, "I'm getting paid what!?!? to do what!?!?" Club

If money was no object then Illitch would just spend what the Yanks do every year. These bad deals can prevent Illitch from ponying up for guys who can actually play.

    .

He never had mono. It was made up to cover up the fact that he sucks. I read it here so it must be true.

Honestly if he did have mono, I could understand him still sucking balls.

Mono fucking sucks. But I don't think he had mono. I think he's just bad at baseball.

Makes a lot of sense. Good excuse to sit him down and hope he worked out the kinks.

And yet a lot of guys in the same situation are "unavailable to the media" on a night like this. Or refuse to accept the assignment.

I agree. The haters who have bashed his "bad attitude" had to be floored that really, he doesn't have such a "bad attitude".

He has been brutal on the field, no doubt. The people saying he was never sick need to provide proof or STFU.

I feel bad for the guy. I get that he makes millions and is paid to perform. Clearly, he has failed badly but watching him tonight answering questions is difficult. A little human compasion for the Brandon is in order. Now, go on with the bashing.

He's likely going to get paid $8 million for screwing up his job and meeting zero expectations. I have no compassion for him. He's also a Walverine with cheesy tattoos (shocking, I know) to boot. Good riddance.

Thats not the point, just that his stats started falling in July 09 and have never bounced since.

I really do think the HR Derby messed with his technique or mentality that year, at least. When he swung and missed at the freaking derby, we should have known then things were going downhill.

Fair enough. I hope you never fail at your job. Again, I get that the guy was paid big time but he is still a human being with a family. The Tigers will be a better team without him but I still feel for him as a competitor.

When did I say anything about his family or even his well being? I don't wish him harm and I definitely don't wish anything on his family. I don't care who he is or what he does or how nice he is...as a Tigers fan, I'm completely tired of seeing him doing absolutely nothing productive. Nothing. He used to at least be a good fielder, but he sucks at that now too. I know, I know, to quote him I'm not a "real" fan because I dare critize him.

To address your comment on my job, if I failed miserably at every single aspect of my job day in an day out and told the people who critized me to "get off my back," I'm pretty sure no one would have any compassion...no matter how nice I am or how hard I try.

Again, I'm not wishing the guy harm...I don't hate him...but as a Tigers fan, I feel this is way overdue and am so happy the end is finally in sight. The guy is walking away with $8 million for being a failure at his job (maybe harsh, but it is true) in a town where people bust their ass every day for work with little to no acknowledgment Sorry if I spare him my pity.

Goodbye. I hope he finds a club or an occupation that suits him much better than this one.

For just a second, take the money out of it . Do you question his work ethic? I don't pity Brandon Inge, far from it. He failed at his job and I have some sympathy. Sue me.

Honestly, I get what you're saying to an extent. Personally, it is hard for me to take the money out of the equation. IF he made minimum wage and was a failure, I'd be more likely to feel some sympathy for the guy...but he doesn't. I also don't think his baseball career is done...he will find some team or some facet of the game that suits him better (while still likely making a ton of cash). Again, I wish him the best and I don't hate the guy; just am excited, as a Tigers fan, to hopefully never see him strike out in a Tigers uniform again.

  • Inge clearly loves Detroit and I think he is handling this very professionally and with class. Took total responsibility for his poor play and didn't blame anyone. Pretty rare these days.

He's taking it like a man, that's for sure.

Inge is a cry baby. when Pudge was here he thought he should have been the catcher and pouted. Inge is a decent guy to be around when he plays, when he isn't he pouts.

I listened to him tonight on FSD and it was "A lot of other players would have told them to shove it you know where...blah, blah , blah." Get over yourself Inge.

"I am a leader on this team" ---No you aren't you can hit and field anymore and you are distraction in the clubhouse when you aren't playing because of your pouting.

Most guys would refuse assignment because they would have confidence in their ability to catch on with another team, he has lost confidence in the ability he had. He actually said, "A lot of teams would want me" NO THEY WOULDN'T.

Don't worry, what is going to happen is he will go to Toledo, go through the motions and get called up in September when the Tigers expand their rosters, thus ruining team chemistry and any chance to win. Much to the dismay of any Tiger fan with common sense.

Who is he going to blame for hitting .177 and making errors.

He kept clearing his throat when talking on FSD which tells me he is saying all the right things, but he is pissed.

Agree, 8-million for a 10-year guy and he is hitting .177?, but lets takes his hitting away for a second because he could always field--oh wait, he can't do that anymore either. Willing to be a utility player? Nope--DD and Leyland were smart enough to get him off the bench and down to Toledo because he pouts when he doesn't play and everyone knows it.
