Worth's career batting average is 20+ points higher than Inge's and they play comparable defense. With Worth's younger legs and lower salary, he's the logical selection at 2B.

Unfortunately, the Tigers will give Inge yet another undeserved, lengthy audition to win the job. After DFA'ing Inge last season, however, I don't think this faulty experiment will last as long as in year's past. I don't see Inge surviving longer than 25 games if he can't climb above .210-.220.

Worth hit .317 in spring training.
Inge hit .171 in spring training.

Makes sense to me.

Inge hit .180 in spring training and a whopping .111 at Toledo (1 for 9, one single).

Total =59 AB's total, just 10-hits, only 4-extra base hits for an overall average of .172 this spring.

So in a Major league baseball uniform for the Tigers last year, and spring training and Toledo this year-- Inge has 364 AB's, 63-hits, 14-extra base hits, 3-HR, and only 23 RBI's and a.192 average.

He gets one extra base hit per 26 AB's. Ouch.

In his prime (2005-2007) He averaged 1 extra base hit per 11.7 AB's, 1 HR per 31-AB's, and an average of 19 HR's a year and 28 doubles per year, and 75 RBI's, and had a batting average at .251.

Since his surgery in November of 2009...(and all AB's in 2012) He has 1 extra base hit per 12.3 AB's with 1 HR per 43 AB's.

Since 2008 he has averaged 13.5 HR's a year, 17.5 doubles per year, 57 RBI's, and a batting average of .224.

Or how about we call up another player who can't hit .100, Put him in left, DH Raburn, and Inge at second?

what exactly does Inge need to do to play his way off the team? If he hasn't yet I am not sure how he can
