Is Alabama in football like Kentucky in basketball?

I see that Alabama had 4 first round picks. Then they just reload for the next year. I know that some of the Alabama players play more than 1 year but consistently getting top classes and top drafts seem to go hand in hand.

'Bama has always had powerful recruiting. Got to believe Saban is doing a great job of touting his growing list of players going to the NFL in less than 4 years.
Just like Kentucky many coaches only explanation of 'Bama's recruiting is "I dunno" they just recruit better than any other team in the SEC.

Well they're top 5 every year in recruiting, usually closer to 1. When you get that many talented guys, a lot of them are going to be 1st rounders. We all saw them, you already know how talented that team is.

Don't think for a minute that Saban's appearance on that stage wasn't a calculated recruiting tactic. Every high school kid out there saw FOUR of his players go in the first round. I'm not saying there wasn't a hint of sincerity in his congratulatory hand shakes, but he has a program to run.

In a way. They're both dirty as hell, but football, given it's inherent design (22 starters, 2 deeps, 85 man rosters) is far different than basketball.
An apt compairson might be the Italians and the Germans in WW2. They're both evil, but Kentucky (Germany) does it on a grander scale.

Alabama had the #1 recruiting class in the country 4 out of the last 5 years.

This 100%...I had the exact same thought when I saw that.
He made the mistake twice in looking at the camera to make sure his timing was correct.
Sly move, but why not take advantage of the stage you were provided.
