I heard they made him play with one hand tied behind his back.

They made him wear a special visor on his helmet which made it look like everyone had the 'red' DO NOT HIT jerseys on.

Actually I think Josiah Price is more game ready at TE.

My impression was that Even Jones is bigger and more of a blocker. That's why I think he'll hold the edge in that group of freshmen. Price is supposed to be more of a pass catching TE, at least from what i've heard. Either way, I don't think either of them will redshirt.

A scrimmage that we have 5 lines of description, vs a TV event that everybody could watch, point and laugh at.

    Is that a surprise?

No, but this hasn't gotten enough talk and that has gotten way too much.

I was either exaggerating or extrapolating out the current thread, I'll let you figure it out.

I'm not sure if you've clicked on that thread, but the last page has been discussion of what banning looks like to a mod. The previous 6 some high school walmarter getting his ass handed to him.

  • so instead of contributing something to this thread, you just bitch? ok, then.

how are people suppose to talk about a game that no one saw? it'd be like expecting people to talk about Cleveland Indians games.

Wow that's a bit disheartening to hear about the offense, but our WR is REALLY inexperienced while our defense is amazing.

Kind of sad to hear that 2/10 sacks were by DBs. Gotta work on diagnosing CB blitzes.

There is no stopping Johnny Adams on that corner blitz. Fortunately, that's much worse news for our opposition than it is for our offense.

  • Really wish there were more eye witness accounts of this scrimmage. WIsh it would have been an open scrimmage because it sounds like the defense put on a show.

I feel like the passing situation will work itself out, we should be able to run on most teams and that should make the passing game easier. But, here's an idea, I know it sounds stupid but hear me out. Dan France should start getting a few reps at TE. If we're really going to struggle throwing it, then why not just put a OT at TE and start going into two TE sets all the time, with Sims on the other side. Defenses would load the box, sure, but if the passing game is not that good, then they'll be stacking the box anyway.

Ok, someone can tell me why this would never work and how stupid I am now, just wanted to throw it out there. In reality, I think that Even Jones is probably going to be the 2nd string TE this season, and I think he'll move to OT after that.

Well for one ....France is now 315 lbs. Not exactly conducive to pass receiving as a tight end..perhaps he could be the blocking TE in a two TE set but he'll have to be able to move around more than if he was on the line. Not sure he has the make-up for that.

Michigan State does not and will not run the 3-4 defense.

I would love to see Heath or Gholston at TE....imagine a LB having to attempt blocking/covering a 6'7 275lb TE.
