It's Hockey Night @Munn! v MSU vs Miami 1/6

Not in OT since they never got it out of their zone!

So, in the CCHA tie points only get awarded if you finish the OT tied? That's sort of a bummer.

That's just like your opinion man

Its the same as how the NHL handles OTs.

No, in the NHL you get a point when the teams tied after 60 minutes

It is like the NHL pre 1996 or so

  • Well, hard fought and entertaining game but a bummer to lose another OT. Blown coverage defensively led to their guy just being able to waltz right out in front of palmisano and roof it. Palmy's played fantastic again, btw.

We played pretty well. Miami is one big, strong team and i thought we scrapped well with them. A couple of our guys did get absolutely smacked. Buttery took a scary one into the boards and I think it was Walrod got trashed in the third period at one point. Anyways, Miami is the team i want to see our program modeled after in a few years. Big, strong, tough and fast. We are by no means soft, but Enrico Blasi's Miami teams are consistently some of the toughest and most physical in the NCAA.

I like our powerplay. It failed to get us on the board when it should have tonight, but Miami played extremely well on the PK. They were aggressive but very disciplined and were always in the shooting lanes. Some people were upset about us not shooting the puck more but it was tough to get good looks to the net. But our PP maintains possession well and moves it around nicely.

Sellout crowd tonight. I really hope that continues for the rest of the year. It was really nice. When we get the students back then hopefully Munn will keep rocking harder.

EDIT: Also, injuries are starting to pile up. We had a couple key forwards out tonight and it looks like Grassi might be out on D. Anastos in his post-game said that he took a cheap shot to the head behind the play. He didn't return so hopefully it was just precautionary.

  • They looked so afraid to shoot when settled in. Oh well.
