Izzo Calls Timeout and Then This?

  • Horrible decision by Draymond. There was plenty of time on the shot clock to reset the offense. Instead he takes an awful shot while his fellow senior teammate is standing wide open a few feet from him. When Draymond tries to do everything himself the team stinks. Like when he tried to steal that rebound away from a teammate(either Dawson or AT- cant remember)in the 1st H resulting in a mini run by OSU. The dude is a great Spartan but he becomes selfish too many times. Neg bomb all you want but Draymond needs to stay team oriented for any chance of a tourney run.

  • He drew Buford open and had Thornton wide open at the top of the key. I really thought it was going to be the ultimate redemption for Thornton to knock down the winner. Bad choice by Green but right call by Izzo to put it in his hands.

  • Horrible play by Draymond, cost us the game when you think about it. Both teams in the double bonus, Green had just gotten two easy buckets going strong. Why not go hard inside? Stupid. I knew it was over after that, just a bad feeling.

What is that, a Titleist? A hole in one...

Thornton was wide open at top of the key. Green looked at him and ten spun for the shot. I thought it was really selfish. A little like last year's hero syndrome. Green could have been a star if pass to Austin and he hits it. Was set up for a Cinderella senior day ending.

This sort of, not sure about the selfish part, but Thornton was open on top and would have had a real good look. O-state went with both the bigs putting a larger body on Green than what he had been facing. Bad decision and a terrible time to have one.

  • Not sure what the play call was but OSU had Green in a tough spot in the post. He needed to kick and reset and he really made a mistake in not doing so. Plenty of time left. Green panicked a little there and went for a tough shot.

Posting member of tRCMB since 1997. It is ALWAYS a great day to be a Spartan!!!!

  • Not what you are looking for there, but Day Day is our guy and got us to that point.

Decent look, but you really want to try to get to the foul line there. Kind of bailed out OSU with that shot.

Props to Appling, that was insane D, Buford just hit an NBA caliber shot. Game had a guillotine feel all day to me... The fucking thing finally dropped.

  • OSU's backup C deserves a lot of credit. Don't want to give it to him, but he fucking OWNED the last 5 minutes of that game.

  • What I don't get is why we didn't go for the 2-for-1 in that situation. We had plenty of time to try and get off at least a halfway decent shot before the game clock got down to around the 35 second range, but instead just settled for a terrible shot with 25 seconds left. I just don't understand that.

  • Can someone correct me if I'm wrong? I thought Appling gave him the post feed and ran thru like he was terrified the double was coming and Day would be forced to kick it back? Should've stayed there to at the very least to give Day a reset.

I am gravely disappointed. Again you have made me unleash my dogs of war.

  • We've had trouble executing in close games this season i.e Illini, UM, UW and now OSU. Guys have to take better shots and maybe coach can be a little more creative too. I wouldn't mind seeing a Day Day and KA pick and roll.

Not sure about Appling but Green had AT for an outlet to either reset the offense or take a wide open 3.

We executed really well the last 4 minutes until the last play.

OSU blew up the play and Green missed a tough, tough shot.

Izzo did some great stuff in getting the ball to the post up until the last play.

You guys act like Izzo can somehow always, always, always, draw up a play for 2 points. Sometimes the other guys play good D.

    Anyone. Anyplace. Anytime.

  • Thornton was not open. Draymond got stuck on that spot. If he tries to make the pass there, OSU makes an easy steal. If anyone had been moving and trying to get to him for a pass, maybe. But Thornton wasn't moving at all to get a pass.

  • As much as most on here love to rip on Dakich, it was a stupid move on our part to set Green up on the right block instead of the left block. Green's last 4 or 5 baskets had come with him down on the left block. Not sure why Izzo decided to go away from that and have Green set up on the right.

  • Green said he thought the shot was good when he let it go. He's a confident kid, not prone to second-guessing.
