Izzo: Hollis seeking waiver for Roe to dress and play on Sun

  • Would he be allowed to go out on the court (with a minute left) and kiss the S like all seniors....fair or foul?

Is there any precedent on this?>

Not a huge deal to me either, dumb they won't let him 'make a cameo', but I'm OK with him wearing a sharp suit, shaking the other seniors hands and hopefully getting T'd up for walking out and kissing the S/Helmet with a couple seconds left in a blowout.

This isn't a hill to die on, by any means. It seems silly to deny it, but I would guess there is some precedent they don't want to set. Roe will be recognized and get a nice ovation.

  • I say that Delvon dresses in basketball warm ups and during a tv timeout they honor him and he gets to kiss the floor.

Risking a zilly downvotes, I can actually understand him not being allowed to play. After all, he's not on the roster. However, he should definitely be allowed to wear a uni and sit on the bench.

I actually agree. I'd let him go kiss the Spartan head before the game, and get his applause.

I actually don't like the distraction. We can beat tOSU and win this league outright. Instead this is the preoccupation? Come on. Gotta maintain focus.

I don't believe there would be anything wrong with doing that during a TV timeout. They honor people all the time during timeouts.

He wouldn't be able to wear the uniform, though, unless they get a waiver.

I doubt the team is especially distracted by it. Fans and media, maybe, but this will all be decided well before the game.

Any reason he couldn't wear the Green uniform from last year or 2009?

Did you see Gary's sex scene? That said MSU > Iowa, so maybe Delvon's got a shot.

Really? So he can't even wear a uniform? Can't he just say he bought an old one from SBS and wore it?

  • I wish the NCAA would allow this as much as everyone else around here but I think we all know the chances are slim. The problem is that if the NCAA grants this waiver somewhere down the road some scumbag like Calipari will request something like this for all the wrong reasons and claim that he should be granted because we got ours.

He should be able to sit on the bench wearing whatever he wants. If they say he can't wear the same jersey as the players eligble to play than let him put on the green away jersey and honor this kid during a tv timeout near the end of the game.

It really is sad that so many people, instutions and members of the government have absolutely no common sense anymore.

True - we should be focusing on whether or not the White Out will work and whether the students should rush the court or not.

It's truly stupendous we're too fucking stupid to have Green out on Green's Senior Day.

Yes, this is definitely the government's fault.

Captain Davenport: And no matter what his credentials, I don't care for him wearing the uniform.
Admiral Josh Painter: You see that ring on his finger? The Academy, Class of '72. A Marine.
Captain Davenport: You're kidding! How did you...
Admiral Josh Painter: Greer told me. Summer of his third year, he and his squad went down in a chopper accident in the Med. Bad - pilot, crew killed. That kid spent ten months in traction, another year learning to walk again. Did his fourth year from the hospital. Now it's up to you, Charlie, but you might consider cuttin' the kid a little slack.

What is your obsession with these threads? There is nothing wrong with anything in this thread you are trying to make fun of. I see what you are trying to do, but I think you got your point across about 4 posts ago.

  • As long as Kentucky can keep buying their players, then I understand why Delvon isn't allowed to dress. It's the way of the NCAA. Suspend Izzo for a game for next to nothing, but let the wicked run wild without accountability? Neat.

I always assumed you entered these posts to make fun of the people who enjoy reading this type of stuff. You just recycle messageboard vernacular in pointless ways. I thought you were trying to show people how absurd they can be, and a lot of times it might be warranted. In this case I think it is annoying and then becomes about you and derailing the thread.

Or you are just being pointless.
