Joe Lunardi's Bracketology update

  • Seeds ARE released at 6 and despite our game ending about then, they WILL have to decide both teams seeds before then....I think OSu and MSU end up 2 seeds. I also agree with a few analysts I've seen: we deserve the 2 seed in the MIdwest region based on SOS....that will put tO$U out WEST.

The most annoying comment I heard all day was Greg Anthony who promptly announced after osu's rousing win over limp dick SCum: "OSU can still bump up to a one seed with an impressive win tomorrow." Never did like that lil' shit.

  • I have us in Phoenix with North Carolina. If MSU and UNC win or MSU and UNC lose, UNC gets the #1 seed and MSU gets the #2 seed. If MSU wins and UNC loses, MSU gets the #1 seed.

Seth Davis seemed to think that the winner of MSU/OSU tomorrow gets the 1 seed instead of Kansas

To me, that's fair (like I have a vote). Co-champs, both top 10, have each won on the other's court, and now--neutral court for the prize.

And, CBS (Clark K) will be saying it the whole f**king game--"The winner of this game will probably receive the last number 1." I bet he says it twenty times, or more. The dude doesn't have much originality. It would make a good drinking game--every time Clark touts the winner will get the #1 seed we take a shot. Everyone will be shit-faced by half-time, though, and never see the end of the game.

In all fairness, though, if OSU has an impressive win, they will have beaten one the nation's badass teams. That should be well rewarded. We all know it ain't gonna happen, but there is some logic in it.

You have KU as a 1 regardless?

Yep, it's good for us that OSU won today. Since we have such similar resumes, the committee can make the decision tonight whether they think the winner of our game deserves the last #1, regardless of who wins.

Nope. Carolina is a lock 1. If anybody is moving down, it is Kansas. In fact, Kansas WILL move down, whether to us or tOSU depends on the game tomorrow.

Wrong. The outcome of MSUs game will have an effect on the seeding. The committee works up contingency brackets based on the winners of the late games.

  • I'd rather be out West than anywhere. It's the only thing that will be close to neutral. If we're in the midwest, then we'd potentially be playing Mizzou or Kansas in St Louis. If we're in the East, we'd potentially play Cuse in Boston, etc.

The West is good because it's neutral.

No they're not. The selection special airs from 6:00 to 7:00 on CBS (according to my channel guide). CBS wouldn't preempt 60 Minutes and piss off the zombies.

  • So where will MSU be ranked in the Rpi if they beat tOSU tomorrow?

I see the updated rpi rankings they are 6th just a sliver behind Kansas and a little further behind duke.

Also those rankings came out before the um/OSU game.

I think the committee uses the rpi as a criteria for figuring out seeding.

  • Winner tomorrow gets the #1 seed. It isn't hard to figure out. I don't see Mizzou leaping UNC, even with a UNC loss tomorrow. What I can see, however, is the winner of tomorrow jumping UNC with a loss.

  • I have a bad feeling we'll get a 2 seed regardless of the game tomorrow. Our resume is already better then Kansas and they still project them with the 1. Anyone care to post the resumes?
