  • RIP JoePa---

By the way----Since my thread was locked and couldn't answer, yes I would forgive both JoePa and Hitler for what they did, and yes even if that was one of my sons because that's the way I roll as a Christian.

    Here's what I wrote earlier...
    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Yep, no matter what he SHOULD have done, he spent 60+ years coaching young men, recruited fairly without cheating for the most part, and made his players go to real classes instead of being funneled into easy ones to keep them eligible in what he called the 'great experiment', and almost all of his players love him and have said they are better people for having him in their lives. Which makes this sadder.

Yeah, there are lot of things he should have done, although he didn't actually commit these heinous crimes and he did initially report something to his superiors.. but he could have done more or should have done more, so it not surprising that he will always be remembered for what he didn't do--which is pretty sad, and even more tragic when public figures have their mistakes paraded before the media, and especially for a public figure who always wanted, if not tried, to do the right thing.

So when your knees hit the floor tonight, say a little prayer for him and try to remember the things he did do. None of us are perfect---and it is time to forgive. Some say JoePa is battling lung cancer...I think the guy is battling a broken heart.
