One of the worst meltdowns that I've ever seen. I was totally done with JLS after that game. I felt like the Valenti rant. Only one other game was even close and that was when Yarema threw the interception at the 3 yard line against Iowa. It was like a funeral procession leaving SS. Glad those days seem to be behind us under MD!

Exactly.
Not to mention the millions be made at MSU during his tenure ignoring the instate talent who wanted to play in EL but went elsewhere due to his 40 hour work weeks he spent planning his "next breathtaking adventure".
I understand his wife had cancer and by all means should have been his #1 priority. But instead of showing some class by going to Mason and admitting he couldn't put in the time necessary to build a competitive program (not to mention earn the 7-figure salary he was making), he choose to take the money and run while letting the program go to shit for another half decade and making MSU the nation's laughing stock in the process.
There's no doubt Mason would have shown some compassion and worked with him just as other D-1 athletic departments would and he could have taken all the time necessary to be with his wife, save his reputation, and still walk away with millions and his head held high.
I've never wished bad things for him, but also don't feel the least bit sorry for someone with his connections and lifetime income who's still dumb enough to need to declare bankruptcy due to his own piss poor decisions right before retirement.
If only all of us could have had it as bad as John L.
