Just had a waitress chase me down for a tip

You poor? You tip on the bill BEFORE the gift card and coupon, she shouldn't have to chase you down(and she shouldn't have)

Actually I think you used to order your food up front at Bdubs and they'd page you when it was ready, but there were still servers getting drinks from the bar. This was about 10 years ago.

That's how I remembered Bdubs. 25 cent Wednesday nights were the best.

Haha, if overtipping waitresses is the key to getting laid and having a lot of friends, count me out.

Ok, let me know when you find a chick that likes guys ripping on others professions and then shows how cheap he is by complaining about food prices over dinner. Good luck there fella thumbsup

I'm not ripping on waitresses, but it certainly shouldn't be seen as a career.

You are a clown and unsophisticated if you think a girl makes decisions on who to enter her vagina based on his opinions of waitresses(it's almost entirely done on physical appearance and earning potential).

Went to BWW for some wings. Bill comes. I had done the survey to get $5 off. Also was using a giftcard. Hand in the receipt with the survey code, gift card and CC. She clears the gift card and charges the remaining $4 to the CC. Asked if they stopped doing the survey promotion. She's like oh I thought you just handed me a random receipt. She's now confused as to ho to proceed. Has manager come to fix it up. They clear the cc charge and leave 97 cents on the gift card. Says its all taken care of so I head out. Hear her complaining as we leave and next thing I know shes out the side door complaining I didnt tip her. Says after all they did to fix it blah blah blah so I give her the $2 I had originally left with the CC.

Not sure why she had to make it so complicated and difficult for herself. A) She could have asked what the receipt was for if she didnt know in the first place. B) She could have just given me $5 instead of trying to clear and adjust everything. C) Could have just put $5 on the giftcard

Say goodbye to that fifth star

I get that, but that wasn't the question.

What is the functional purpose of a waitress? Do you really think BDubs would go out of business if they had iPads on every table where people ordered their own food, and picked it up from a window themselves when it is finished?

Except for the iPad ordering concept, picking up from "a window" already exists. It's called McDonald's/Burger King/Wendy's/etc, so your brilliant concept is, well, simply brilliant.

    Wait....

Years ago, at A & W, you ordered your meal from your table using a telephone. That concept really took hold all throughout the industry to such an extent that no one else even tried it.

Actually, it says a lot about a guy if he is too cheap to tip a waitress. I do change my thinking about a guy if he's like that.

So if a guy tips 20%+, he's balls deep, but if he tips 15% you won't even touch him? Even if he's good looking and makes $200k?

I'm gonna call absolute BS on that one.

I have been out with doctors who make more than $300k and not tip that great. It says a lot. Would that be the only reason to turn down a guy? No. But it would be fairly high on the list. It says that he doesn't respect the other hard working people in the world who may be working from the bottom up. And I do not like that trait in a man.

15% is fine, if that's what was deserved. However, you seem them bust their ass, than +20% makes a difference. I tip more than most of them, and I have very little money. But I won't go out to a place like that, if I can't afford to tip someone.

The thing is, wait staff have survived because the business only has to pay them $2.65 per hour and the business can pass all other cost to the consumer. I can't imagine that system lasting forever.

As a former bartender and waiter, I respect the hardworking wait staff. I'm a 20 to 25% tipper.

I have never done that kind of work myself. My job is shitty and has crappy pay too, but I understand and empathize with the kind of work waiters have.

It has lasted and it will continue to last.

Based on your hatred of tipping hardworking servers (and your desire for "self service dining"), you must be a regular customer at Golden Corral, so here you go:
