    I think in another thread I posted that we've been ranked 11 times as a preseason top 10 team under Izzo. Made the Final Four 6 of those times. First round exit 3 times, 1 sweet 16 and 1 other Elite Eight.

    I think what a lot of posters don't realize is that in years like 2005 and 2009, we were only a 5 seed in the tournament so it seems like we were flying under the radar those years, but we were a top 10 team preseason and just underachieved during the regular season.

    Being a top 10 preseason team means that you're team has a lot of talent. I'll take a lot of talent and Izzo as coach anytime.

    Preseason rankings are almost meaningless. This year is a case in point. If we had Dawson at years end we may have made FF. next year we will be loaded and should go farther.

    They aren't as meaningless as you think. UConn was the first team last year to win a NC with a team that wasn't ranked in the top 20 preseason. I'm going to look it up, but it's something like 15 of the past 16 NC's were ranked in the top 10 preseason.

    Being ranked high just means that you have a lot of noticeable talent on your team. Nothing wrong with that.

    Lol Indiana will be no lower than #5 to start next season. Book it. The only reason why I can't see them at #1 or #2 is because unless you're Duke, UNC, Kansas, Kentucky or Syracuse, you're not starting the season #1. College Basketball pollsters are real lazy. Maybe more so than football voters. Once Indiana brings in Ferrell and brings back Mo Creek, that team will be ridiculously deep. I think MSU will be fringe Top 10, as will Ohio State. Even if Thomas and Sullinger both leave, a core of Kraft, Smith Jr. and Thompson is a pretty nice thing to build around. If they can get Amir Williams involved (big if), that'll be a solid team.

    Really can't see how anyone puts Michigan in the Top 15, even with Burke. They'll have two players that can do shit. They're going to need 25-30 per game from Robinson III, McGary and Stauskas or they're fucked. I'm not voting a team that is relying on Morgan and Vogrich in the Top 15 if I'm a voter.

    I would have Louisville #1 to start next year if Siva stays.

    Yes and of the lowest preseason rank of this year's Elite 8 was Kansas at 13.
