Chunk charcoal is better, cooks hotter.
Kingsford has gone down hill in the last 20 years. They have new manufacturing processes that let them use all kinds of wood including recycled wood. That means they can use particle board as some of the suff that makes up their product.

Charcoal grilling is such a pain in the ass, I eventually decided that it isn't worth it anymore. Gas takes 10-15 minutes from start to finish and costs far less than a bag of charcoal. Any you typically smell like smoke and lighter fluid afterwards and have to take a shower.
I understand you can't take a gas grill with you wherever you go, but charcoal is an option only in a pinch for me.

I ran out last year's supply of Kingsford, and I just went to get more. They're selling the Original Kingsford in 16.6 pound bags, now. Eff them! I just shot off a letter to Kingsford saying 20 to 18 pounds was bad, 16.6 pounds is unacceptable. I am so pissed at companies continually shrinking their product size. I won't buy 1.5 quart ice cream--even if they give the shit away. And, if I have options, I'm not going to buy a 16.6 pound bag of charcoal.
So, what's another good charcoal? I'm looking for suggestions.

The ever increasing downsizing of products is something that pisses me off no end.
Kingsford can go eff themselves. What's another good charcoal?
