After talking with someone about this, it actually may not be about the RCMB.....may have to do with someone else on the internet complaining a while ago about MSU being "too cheap to pay Hollis."

I agree it was a misstep, but MSU is far from the only institution to take a hit from trying to get traction in Dubai (I believe NYU also got screwed in their deal with Dubai). Classic case of many smart people buying in at the peak of a bubble, thinking they were going to get rich. It's unfortunate, but I'm willing to give her a bit of a pass based on overall quality leadership.
