LeBron James

  • Is off to one of the best starts in NBA history with him averaging 30 points, 7.5 assists, and 7.7 rebounds while shooting 60 percent from the field. It looks like he has worked on his post game and is truly becoming unstoppable on offense with his ability to get to the rim at will and jump shot (was third in the NBA last year in jump shot percentage past 15 feet behind Ray Allen and Drik Nowitizki.). Also, if you consider the fact he is averaging 2 blocks and 1 steal a game while defending all five positions on the court I can not think of a player that is playing better than him. Finally, I dont know who can beat this Heat team when Lebron is playing like he is right now and when this team is healthy (Dwayne Wade has been playing with a foot injury for the past couple of games and missed last nights game.)

  • Dude hasn't shot a 3 all year, worked on his post game with Olajuwan this summer, and seems like a hands down MVP.

I hate the hell out of him but it seems like he got real serious about winning it all after last year's disappointment. He could be one of the best ever if he had the mental tenacity that he's been lacking so far in his career.

When you also consider the fact LeBron is only playing 35 minutes a game, shooting a higher percentage than those two and have to share the ball with another top 5 player in the league in Wade and top 5 PF in Bosh its as impressive as those games if not a little bit more. Plus he guards all five postions well on defense something no one in the history of this game has really done.

  • He may look great now, but these games are meaningless, wait until the playoffs and see if he grew some gonads to go with his post game.

I am not saying he is the best basketball player ever (even though he has a chance since he is only 27 years old and that was the age Michael Jordan won his first championship). I'm just acknowledging the fact that he is playing at a ridiculous level right now and is now becoming the player people enviosned him being.

You know how easy it is to counter argue your point? He is playing with JUST those two, exactly!! And you even said Wade's foot has been hurt all year. Who the hell else is going to put up gaudy numbers on that team?

Yes, you are helping my case, thank you. LeBron has 1 banged up hall of famer and 1 above average NBA forward. Besides that no one on that team can put up good consistent numbers. So again, the numbers have to come from someone. He is super valuable to his team, clearly, but to say after these 6 games that he is having one of the best seasons ever is definitely jumping the gun. pump the brakes till we see what he does throughout the season and the playoffs.

Not really. I'm showing that LeBron has less talent to work with than those guys which makes what he is doing more impressive and when he wins championships (you know he will) it will be more impressive because he has less talent around him than MJ, Magic, and Bird had. And I said he was having one of the best starts in NBA history, not that he was having one of the best seasons. Now, if he keeps this up throughout the whole regular season I will say he is having one of the greatest season ever. Finally, if he continues this in the playoffs I will say he is having one of the greatest playoffs ever.

Can you see into the future? No, I don't know he will win a championship. There is a very mad and determined team over in Chicago that may have something to say about that.

Your right, but if he does start winning championships and with the progression he has made as a player he will be neck and neck with MJ in terms of being the greatest player of all time in my opinion.

You forget that the NBA is pretty watered down these days and a shadow of what it was in the 1980's when the Lakers and Celtics had some of the all time great teams not to mention the Bad Boy Pistons with 2 HOF players.

And it's not like the other 9-10 players on the Heat are garbage. Chalmers, Haslem and Cole are important part of the team.

I think LeBron is having a terrific season so far but of course it's a moot point if they don't win the title. And if he disappears again in the playoffs Spoelstra will be gone and James once again will be ridiculed.

Kobe has put up equal if not better numbers, had lead the Lakers to 5 NBA titles, and everyone still acknowledges that Michael is above him in terms of greatest of all time. No one will ever take that title away from MJ, Hitler mustache and all. If LeBron wanted an MJ-like legacy, he needs to go back in time and erase what he did in the last year and a half, and win a few championships.

Only if he wins 5-6 championships. And Kobe, Magic, Kareem, Russell and Bird are certainly greater players at this point in his career. I would argue that Isiah is better too. He came up big when it counted and has 2 rings. Remember this is already James' 9th season.
