#LetDelvonPlay is picking up on Twitter...BIG TIME

Delvon reminds me of Will Smith's character in the movie Pursuit of Happyness, he just will not be denied, and he will find success.

lol I just watched that movie for the first time the other day. +1 for the comparison.

To each their own man... I have always had a favorite Spartan.. I loved Raymar before he ever stepped on campus. Delvon the same way... Dont know why, I just took to those guys and rooted for them. Roe even more so with him constanly fighting back from injury every season, I just always liked the kid.

I have a strong feeling that not many are going to agree with you, but I also know that I was probably a bigger fan of Delvon than most, so to each their own.

Going to +1 you for expressing an opinion against the norm and not being a jerk about it.

+1 I guess. I simply don't understand how you can love a player before they come to MSU, unless they went to your high school or something.

I guess for me, its that I always wanted to have a 6'7" three that could face up, rebound, and just be a beast.

Raymar, Delvon, and Dawson were all that guy in high school. I can tell you right now that if Jabari Parker comes here, he is the next guy for me.

Raymar and Delvon both had to become back to the basket guys for different reasons, but both had the ability to do a TON of different things to help the team and thats what makes a player special to me... the ability to play whichever way their defender doesnt want them to.

So you must like my signature? It's an aid to imagination of what Parkers jersey will look like hanging in the Breslin?

At the risk of getting downvoted to Bolivia, am I the only one that has no real emotional attachment to Roe? It sucks what happened to him, and he sure tried hard to come back, but he didn't. I just don't get what's so special about him in particular. Is it just because Izzo seems to really like the guy?

Parker has all the tools to be a great, great player. Yes, I have a feeling your sig may go a long way in tRCMB lore. I hope you have it written down what day you put that there so you can say "told you so" years from now.

He chose MSU when he was one of the most coveted recruits in the nation. A true phenom that everyone expected to be on the fast track to the NBA. Then the injuries hit.

Delvon suffered the pain of injury, surgeries and rehab multiple times. He played on a torn meniscus the last few games of one season because he knew the team needed him to.

Despite all that, Delvon never complained, never slacked and never asked for any sympathy...in fact, he downplayed the pain he was dealing with, even keeping it from the coaching staff.

This is a guy who literally saw his NBA dreams die when his body fell apart. This wasn't just a "Gee, I'd like to play in the NBA dream", this is a guy who would have been drafted out of high school before the one and done rule went into effect.

Izzo raves about Roe's attitude. Jay Bilas calls him the toughest player he's ever seen. I follow Roe on Twitter, and his attitude is amazing. He isn't focused on what he's lost, he's focused on what he has, and what he's working towards (his wife, his daughter, and his acting career).

Delvon reminds me of Will Smith's character in the movie Pursuit of Happyness, he just will not be denied, and he will find success.

    This.

If you have to ask, I don't think you were paying very close attention.

edit: The play I will always remember from Delvon Roe was the Northern Iowa game where we bricked a shot and Roe soared in out of nowhere to slam it back home. It was one of the sickest plays I've ever seen, then I remembered he did it on basically one leg. It was incredible.

    Play

9 N. Iowa vs. 5 Mich St. Highlights

Durrell Summers scored 19 points and Korie Lucious hit a whirling turnaround jumper with 95 seconds left, helping fifth-seeded Michigan State survive a mid-major scare with a 59-52 win over pesky Northern Iowa.

If i couldn't see the score and watched that highlight video i would think UNI beat us by 40 pts...who made that video?

Your average UofM fan and I have something in common, neither of us went to UofM. Though we do share One major difference, I got Accepted.

And boy, spartan fans will never forgive Dakick for this. He's in for it next season.

Fuck him. He now deserves a RCMB invasion level of spamming and vitriol.

The RCMB...is one of the most awful, alarming, inappropriate, disgusting, and offensive msg boards in the history of the internet.

Usually I would agree, but I dont want to give him that attention.

Why doesnt he coach Indiana anymore?

    Sparty2QP

  • So ... put a jersey on him, let him walk out at the after 4:00 timeout, and kiss center court. The crowd and the team should be electric.

I'm not sure that he needs to play.

I don't think Delvon wants to play. According to Hollis...Izzo, Delvon and Hollis just want Delvon to participate in the pre-game ceremonies, sit with the team and be allowed to kiss the Spartan at center court.
