I can't tell if its my fans going crazy or my hard drive going crazy. When ever I do any thing other than just browsing the internet or have mulitple applications open (when I say multiple I mean like 3 Chrome, Word, Spotify, etc basic programs) my computer goes crazy loud. I can't really bring it to a library or any other social setting to work on stuff because it does get so loud. Here is a link of some of the louder moments whilst watching a movie on netflix. The video makes it seem a little louder than it is but its still pretty damn loud. Any help? Is it my hard drive or the fans? I realize its an old computer and probably am in need of an upgrade. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Sounds like the fan. I would not use it until I found out what was wrong with it. It could be a cheaper fix, and MACs are always going for a good price even if an older model. You don't want to risk further damage by using it until it really breaks since it could mess up more stuff internally. Sounds too loud to be the HD IMHO. But I have limited experience with that part of the HD going bad.
