MSU Football optional seat selection system is online

  • FYI - You can log in, watch an instructional video and see current open seats. There is also a count down clock for when you can make your selection.

Looks like a cool system. Now the torture of watching the seats fill up while you wait....

  • So the best upper deck seats are already taken.

    Coach_McGuirk

  • I wonder if they have released those season tickets that were not renewed yet? If they did, not a ton of seats left available.

They can still be released if someone up there wants to move to the lower deck.

Which is exactly what I might do. I know it will change but I'm surprised by how many lower level seats are available between the 20's.

Definitely wondering this too as I expected to see much more available

I think they're open for two reasons... They were the "donation seats" which meant people had to pay extra and they weren't publicized. When buying tickets you couldn't just see what's available in those sections like everywhere else. You had to call the ticket office and ask.

Now that everyone in the lower bowl are both paying the same ticket price and a donation, plus now can see what tickets are available, I'll guess they'll fill up.

I thought it was interesting how many seats were open in the upper east deck, even between the 40's. It will be interesting to see how those fill in seeing there's no donation required.

  • Everything goes live tomorrow so I'm guessing there will be a lot of red & green dots moving around the next few weeks. 15 days to go until selection...

  • If you have to choose, which is better viewing? Being closer to the field or closer to the 50?

Personal preference. Higher up you can see more of the far side of the field, lower you're closer to the action. Anywhere on the sideline lower bowl is a pretty good seat.

  • Where did you get the PIN to login? I did this a long time ago and do not remember entering one. My customer number is in emails they sent to me, but yeah... No PIN

What will be interesting as well is if the non-donor seats fill up before the new season ticket holders pick. People who thought they'ed have a $25 or no donation might be picking when there are only $300 donation seats left (which there currently are a ton of). I doubt they're getting a refund so they'ed be looking at $608 a season ticket when they might have been only planning on paying $333.

  • I gotta say, I'm really impressed with that website. The individual seats (red and green) and views from each? Very well done, MSU.

Very good point, especially when the 5/30 free for all takes place.

  • Cool website. I was hoping to improve my seats in the $100 donation area. But it looks like slim pickings in that area now and probably will be non-existent by the time I get to go live.

Can someone post a screenshot? I'm curious to see what it looks like.

  • If I want to keep the same seats that i've had the past few years then I'll be safe right? Nobody can select them until unless I choose other seats and give those up?

Yeah, I had similar thoughts. I suspect people who bought new season tickets, even existing ticket holders, probably had an expectation of what they could get during the reseating one way or another. Considering the surprisingly sparse selection, I'm thinking people are going to be upset.

Too bad you can't reselect your seats. At least then, people could pick best available, but keep an eye on things incase something better comes along.

Right, everyone has their current seats unless you release them for somewhere else.

  • So I am having a little freakout, and hoping somebody can talk me off the ledge.

I have had the same great seats for 20+ years. They are in the 3rd row of the upper deck on the 40. Well as you know, this year they for the first time, they are included in the scholarship seating area. I purchased my tickets well before the deadline per usual, and my credit card was charged. I guess I just assumed it was for the full amount, including donation. I cant seem to find the confirmation email at the moment. When I log into this system and click on the "My Account" tab, it does not show my seats on the left hand side as it supposed to (according to the instructional video). I am hoping this is just a problem with the program right now.

Anyways, is anybody else having this issue? I will be sending the ticket office an email tomorrow

Don't worry. Mine aren't showing up on the left either. I think they will show up once your time comes to change them.
