As a veteran I love the way Hollis/Izzo are repping our military folks.Of course, the pub doesn't hurt either.
I was born about 15 minutes away from Ramstein and my mom is from a village about 5 clicks away.
I have spent a decent amount of time on the base with the USAF.
The base is cool for civilians who aren't exposed to the military a lot and there is a lot to do in the area(castles, the Winestrassse, riverboat tours, the cathedral at Reims, etc.)
A ton of expats and English -speaking Germans in the area as well.
I encourage any of you who have the means,or are in that part of Europe at that time,to check it out!

Hello. Long time reader, first time poster. Go Green.
Any early thoughts or tips on the general public getting tix to this game? Maybe similar policies to last year's carrier game i.e. limited to military? I live on the Continent and this would be a relative "home" game for me.
Thx in advance.

You are basically correct. Landsthul is where the hospital is located...it is the largest US military hospital oustide of the US. Ramstein is basically a stop over for everything headed to other sites of operation. It is mostly HQ type, air mobility, and support staff folks stationed there. Many different countries as well with a big NATO contingent.
Hopefully the guys get to enjoy some time in K-Town.

I'm probably wrong about this, but isn't Ramstein AB known for its hospital, or at least the first stop on a soldier's road to recovery?
I ask because I would love it if our sick, injured and recovering men and women will be included/honored in this event.

Being a vet myself and a current student at State, I take an extra amount of pride in the fact that my school is pioneering these events for current military members. I don't think it can be said enough how much it means for our service members when these type of events take place. Way to go Mr. Hollis and Coach Izzo. So proud to be a
