    1966 ND Unused Ticket

That is awesome but you have to wonder why someone didn't use it?! Probably a stupid fall wedding.

  • OP, that is an awesome collection. I've saved tickets/stubs for nearly every sporting event and concert I've been to since the mid-late 90's. I wish I was better about it when I was in HS, because I went to some really cool shows in the early-mid 90's but didn't think to keep those.

I have a ton of MSU game ticket stubs, some are pretty beat up though. They're all in a box and a lot of those ticketmaster stubs from concerts are starting to fade really bad. I should pull them out and photograph/scan them before it's too late.

  • It's a shame they stopped making cool ticket designs. I haven't seen any from the past 20 years that excited me. Single-game tickets are even worse (crappy computer printouts). Those ticketmaster ones will fade with time, too.

I wish MSU would do more interesting tickets for season ticket holders. The Cubs do this with their season tickets, and they have some pretty cool images on them this year of old players cards:

  • I bought an ND '66 program off Ebay a year ago for 210.00. It felt like full delivered retail, but I haven't seen a lot since. The bonus, though, was when I opened it up to read it..a ticket stub fell out! It only has a small corner ripped off of it. I've also wondered what one of those stub were worth, but it made me feel a lot better about my purchase ;)

That is super cool!! Whoever sold it to you blew it big time. I bet they could have got another $70-100 for the stub alone.

Old programs are really cool too, and I've been able to get quite a few of those as well for pretty cheap (mostly eBay). I love the cartoon covers from the 50s and early 60s.

Snake, those underwater shots are pretty cool, no?

I enjoyed your pics too, Fish..I felt a little creepy going thru em', but.. ;)

I relish the old ads in the programs such as the '66 ND one. To see old ads for cars and wheels (Motor Wheel, the "new" Cougar for '67) etc back in the day is just what I'm all about..collecting and relishing memories..

I'd frame the program and ticket, but I enjoy browsing through it too much!

  • Oh, the ads are the best!! I love the old cigarette ads, especially. How strange they seem in a college program.

  • 1924 MAC vs Michigan Ticket. U-M came to East Lansing for the first time in ten years for the dedication of the new college stadium. Sold out crowd of 22,000 saw U-M win 7-0.

I only collect stubs from events I have actually been to personally, mostly the concert tickets get saved though as the sporting event ones tend to get beat up more. This is not all of them either:

how many times have you seen Pearl Jam? I count 3 without even really trying.

Somewhere around 20. My next is at a festival in Atlanta this September with the Foo Fighters and a number of other groups.

  • So um... Based on your photos from the Michigan game. Your mom might have been told to "stfu" by yours truly...

Distinct possibility... You should ask her if a bearded fellow turned around and told her to stfu within 3 minutes of the opening kick.

  • No, she doesn't remember that. I do remember her getting in an argument with some dude who sat behind her at that game though. She goes to one game every few years and doesn't understand that game day environments are rowdy.

  • I'm a huge Georgia Tech fan, and since I was a kid, I've kept ticket stubs from every sporting event I've attended. A little over a year ago, I started collecting Georgia Tech football ticket stubs from all seasons. My entire collection is on display here:

I've got a full ticket from the 1985 All American Bowl when Tech played Michigan State, but I'm missing the two other tickets from the series:

    9/18/1971 MSU @ GT
    9/23/1972 GT @ MSU

If anyone has either of these, I'd be willing to buy or trade for either or both.

Please shoot me an e-mail at brad@georgiatechticketstubs.com to discuss.

    Thanks!
    Brad

  • I have kept only one MSU bb ticket and have the final score of the game written on it: 114 to 63.
