MSUAA and MSU Surplus are selling MSU campus road signs today

  • I also picked up a few clothing items as well. Thought this was pretty cool, I have never seen it before, I am assuming it was player only.

  • Where did those signs come from? I don't know why I'm drawing a blank right now...you'd think I would notice a massive 6ft road sign at some point in my 4 years...

    I have every intention of getting myself a cheapo student desk from them. I think they're $5 or something but you have to go to the store and get it (obviously), which means taking my mom's minivan to EL...and I hate that thing.

    The overhead signs hanging from traffic lights are very big. Look at google street view and check out the intersection of Farm Lane and Auditorium, for example. I'm surprised they're only 6 feet long, to be honest.

    The signs were replaced this year due to this project. The new ones are pretty nice with the Spartn helmet logo, etc.

    The Campus Addressing Project has been established to assign an addressing grid for the MSU campus and provide a locatable address for all MSU facilities. For a general timeline on when your building will be given its new address, click on ‘Timeline’ at the top right of this page.

    Why?
    There are three important reasons to make this change: Improving general public safety response, requirements for 9-1-1 enhanced dispatching services, and the ability to use maps/navigation applications. With the rapid advances in technology, and the integration of this technology in providing more accurate and timely response to emergencies, it has become necessary to position MSU to take advantage of these systems. Our current mode of using building names to communicate location does not conform to modern databases and prevents the campus from taking advantage of updated and improved emergency response systems......."

    Good. I always thought it was weird that an address at MSU was basically nothing but a hall name. I'm sure the post office hated it too. I know when filling out online applications and whatnot, simply putting Eppley Center, Michigan State University wasn't good enough. I was like "But they don't have an address!!!!! Let me proceed!!!" lol

  • I got the Dormitory Ct sign since that was right outside my dorm (Mason/Abbot).

    When I look at the new MSU street assignments I don't see it anymore. I think they did away with my little street!

  • I got a call a little while ago telling me that the sign i ordered is a different size than what they have and to call them back. Of course, now they're closed until Monday. We'll see. Maybe instead of the smaller Auditorium sign i got the huge one. That'd be awesome.
