I had this same problem. I was at 95% full and deleted every email. Took me over 3 hours, but worth it, runs soooo much faster. You can block junk email though somehow.

I hate msu.mail.

Just Set it up to forward to a gmail address. You can also set up your gmail to send the messages from separate emai l accounts. It's WAY faster than using the MSU mail because MSU mail loads every message when you open the inbox (or so I've heard... I haven't used the MSU mail interface in over 2 years)

You can delete the entire inbox folder. I had like 4000 emails in mine and they were all instantly gone.

Edit: you have to empty the folder, not delete it.

You could also use Thunderbird (if you're on a PC) or iMail (Mac); both of which are insanely superior to Gmail.

You go to "MSU Prefs" on either the side of the top of the screen. From there you can enter a forwarding address.

To set your Gmail account up to be able to send messages from MSU Mail, you into your Gmail Account, then Settings. You then go to "Accounts and Import" and you can see a "Send mail as: " area about halfway down the screen. At that point I think it will walk you through how to set it up.

You can also set up a signature for each account in Gmail by under the "General" page in the Settings.

FYI, you can also set up your Gmail account to pull from your MSU Mail account. i used to do this but I found it's faster just to forward them. I used to worry about not being able to tell which account the email was sent to, but you can just view that in each email. You can also set up a default account to send mail as somewhere in preferences.
