he did. I had a chance to attend a taping in Harlem (actually the restaurant isn't in Harlem but they promoted it as being there anyway) and had a chance to talk to him. Really friendly guy. He said he was advised to take a season off and besides, there was so many people writing in saying they could to a challenge they thought it would be a really good idea to go that route for a season.
Richman does have a personal trainer who travels with him.

By the way, the taping I was at took nearly 2 hours start to finish for 10 minutes of footage!

If it took 2 hours to capture 10 minutes of footage I'm surprised there weren't any better one-liners. He occasionally throws out a good line when talking with the staff and customers but most of the time its not original and moderately funny at best.
