Id pull my truck up to the cottage, get all my shtuff out, set it in the lawn, and set the 50 under my keys on the hood of the truck.
I would then walk down the road, hang out with my neighbor for a beer or so. If my truck is still there when I get back, I know it is safe to go in the cottage.

I do not think what he done was right but damn i feel him
