Marian Hossa Carted Off the Ice

    Totally agree on all accounts.

Wasn't paying attention to the dates on the videos posted...was the Brown hit after Sedin's cheapass display?

Edit: Now seeing Brown's big hit came first..

Also, thanks for posting the videos, I had not seen Brown-Sedin exchange or the Sedin hit on Keith prior to now

I can't imagine not being able to breathe through your mouth after completing a hockey shift. His nose might be effed up as well, so he'd be liable to pass out.

Close your jaw, locking your teeth in place. Attempt to breathe. As you can see, this still works just fine.
I'm not implying that Hossa should be on the ice a few days after breaking his jaw, I'm just saying this isn't the reason.
That being said, kudos for posting those videos. And I am a fan of Marian Hossa's play, as well as Patrick Sharp, "Chicago's sexiest athlete", lol.

It works just fine if you're sitting in front of a computer.

Not so much if you're trying to compete as a professional athlete. Watch the players on the bench as they come off after a shift. They all have their mouths open, because they're breathing through their mouths to suck in as much air as possible as quickly as possible.

I mean, really -- you're not saying that having your jaw wired shut has no impact on your ability to breathe during competitive physical activity, are you? huh

  • Bump for Torres suspended 25 games. Ok, I get that it was a bad hit, but 25 games? Are they just randomly throwing numbers out at this point. Kronwall leaves his feet on 50% of his hits.

Launching into another player is not the same as leaving the feet as a natural result of the force of hit.

Torres is a major repeat offender. He's done this several times and that factors into it.

This. Repeat offender + clearly not playing the puck and leaving his feet and launching into Hossa's head = 25 game suspension. This was warranted. Hopefully this leads to more consistency in the discipline process...cough cough Weber cough cough.

The RCMB...is one of the most awful, alarming, inappropriate, disgusting, and offensive msg boards in the history of the internet.

This was a cumlulative thing. This is more about sending one final message than this particular hit.
