Mark Cuban Obliterates Skip Bayless and Stephen A Smith on ESPN

    I suppose we do.

    We'd be awful on ESPN.

  • I love it, he talks about last years championship and bayless says "well all i saw was Lebron standing in the corner" Cuban "ya that's right, that's ALL you saw we get NO credit for what we did."

Badass. I've always liked Cuban (thought he was a bit odd at how he acted towards refs) but I can totally see why his players love to have him as an owner.

The first time MSU basketball aired in France the French surrendered to Tom Izzo just to be safe.

I love Cuban...best owner in the NBA at keeping things real. I hope Gores is taking notes

Agreed! Gores needs to hire Cuban away from Dallas.

OK, it's unlikely. But just think: WHAT IF HE DID?!

  • I am glad that NBC and CBS decided it was time to really invest time and money into their own sports networks. You see many of the "talented" people leaving ESPN for these networks. I can only watch ESPN during football season and even then it can be very difficult. You also have the 4 majors having their own networks all of which of very strong (I am only basing this off NFL and NHL). Pure and simple ESPN has focused too much time on the E and not the S part of their name. If ESPN finds itself left with the Bayless, Smiths, Cowherd and the douches from Around the Horn they will find themselves struggling against knowledgeable and respected journalist on other networks.

  • Thanks for posting. Bayless is a smug, no talent, ass clown. I've hated him since way before espn, when he was a Bay Area slappy. The fact that he has made millions is an insult to all Americans. The only thing that would have made that better would be Cuban reaching across the able and bitch slapping him.

  • God I can't get enough of this. Love Skip talking about how all he brings are facts and follows it up IMMEDIATELY with an opinion.

Then Cuban talks about the ridiculous "who wanted it more" nonsense and then Skip follows it up with nonsense about "LeBron playing harder than Durant." How does Skip determine this?

Skip gets called on his nonsense and responds to it with the exact same nonsense. It's amazing.

Also, it's sad how happy I felt watching this. I need to get a life.

    Disagree.

Sunday NFL Matchup is one of the best shows on the four letter network.

Now that the "All 22" tapes are going to be available for fans, it's only going to get better.

For the hardcore fan it is. Tell me, what its time slot? Something like Saturday mornings at 2AM?

Trust me, I get excited when I happen to catch an episode, but the average pro football fan in America isn't going to give that show more than five minutes.

MLB Network is amazing. NBA is good too.

Can't really blame ESPN though for not being up to par with those networks in terms of in depth coverage.

  • I like Mark Cuban but he picked an easy target. ESPN is a joke... toss them in the same bin as MTV, Discovery, and Nat Geo, etc.

Viewers are too stupid to keep up with an X's and O's conversation, they're getting exactly what they want.

Sports "journalism", I have yet to see any such thing on any network.... I might as well get my news from MSNBC and Fox News if I'm going to rely on anything on TV for my sports journalism.

But, they do have a monopoly on a lot of the games... so, what is a consumer to do?

I wouldn't be so sure about that. When this stuff happens, people blog about it and post links on message boards, bringing more viewership to their product. ESPN knows exactly what they are doing. ESPN invites controversy at every turn and cares very little about their reputation so long as they remain relevant.

It will be interesting to see if they do bring him back. Nobody has worked Skippy & Stephen A. over like Cuban did. First Take is predominately about hyperbole and Cuban just totally blew it up with a major logic bomb...and I LOVED IT!

ESPN used to be terrific in it's early years until they started to value "entertainment", or what they consider to be "entertainment", over real sports coverage and in-depth analysis.

It used to be on the hour before the one hour long pregrame show before it became a stupid TWO HOUR LONG pregame show.

You're right though about it being hard to find. I wish NFL 32 would focus more on he X's and O's than what's going on in the Twitterverse.

There are so many fascinating things one learns about the game when they watch NFL Sunday Matchup.

A basketball equivalent or hockey equivalent would be amazing.

The basketball especially for me because I play pick up and never played it in high school. I think people like me could learn from that potential show.

  • If Skip wasn't gay before, he is now after Cuban fucked him on live TV.

Not all black people talk louder when arguing, It's just the ones who can't argue the point and have to talk over people(See: Stephen A. Smith)

Even still it'd be pretty much impossible to match what another network can do when that network is focusing on just one sport.

Skip Bayless is gay right? Not that there is anything wrong with that.

Cuban has a bit of a gay lisp. Maybe this was just sexual tension between them.

  • I feel like I owe Cuban a beer. He seems like an everyday man who got rich and never learned the rules of society, so he doesn't abide by them. What would you do if you became a billionaire basically over night? I'd probably buy a sports team and wouldn't sugar coat another word I said in life. He's living the dream.
