Looks good, he's obviously playing with guys he way overmatches physically, but it's goo to see him be able to get up and dunk at will whenever he gets close to the basket. He looks strong and I like his athleticism.

Took a while into that video to get used to him catching it at the 3 point line, drop stepping a guy out of bounds, and putting up a soft shot into the side net.

Two big things I notice...
He plays with a lot of confidence, and he doesn't feel the need to bring the ball down before shooting.

Has the skills of a Wisconsin big, except he looks tougher. Good looking athlete; dunks with ease and the reverse jam at the end was sick. That outside touch will come in handy, especially in Izzo's offense as a PF. Defense will dictate how much he plays, but if his tenacity is as good as advertised, then he'll find a way onto the court.

He looks thick too, a real big kid. That up and under stuff isn't going to fly though with Izzo, go up strong or pass it out. Footwork could be better too, but his ability to finish by dunking without having to gather himself too much shows that he is an explosive enough jumper to finish in college.

His high school coach says he is a beast in the weight room and is apparently up to 6'10 245.

Like Denzel Valentine did, Matt hired a strength and conditioning coach a year ago whose sole job is to increase his athleticism and explosiveness. As you can see from both players, that extra attention and hard work is paying off.

Not overly athletic, but he has nice, soft hands for a big man. He's one of those players who makes everything look easy out there.

I'm very excited about this guy, he looks very fluid for how big he is. I have a feeling he gets solid PT, maybe heavy PT depending on Gauna.
I really hope Gauna and Byrd get more comfortable on the floor.

Setting aside his skills set, size, etc (and I've seen him play) he will win minutes next year because of the competitive nature of his personality - not just how he plays against opponents but vis a vis his teammates.

Hmm... this is the first time i've seen highlights of him.
Looks like a big, strong, bruiser dude. It's good that he can consistently dunk the ball so he has that minimum athleticism. Looks aggressive, uses his strength, has some touch but not great form. Having said that though, he looks like an under-the-rim player. Not anywhere near as athletic as Payne, but I guess no one had that expectation.

I think the height is legit, I've seen him standing next to someone I know is 6'7".

Why a very very poor version?
With his skill set, Costello has the potential to be an all conference first team player and then some. And with his jumpshot, something that Hansblo never had, Matt actually has an even higher upside if you're looking at his pro prospects. It's just a matter of whether Matt hits the weight room hard enough and has the dedication to keep improving his skills from year to year. But his base skill set, it's pro caliber. Drive and determination figures out the rest.

While I think Costello is going to be a very very good player for us, I can't get too excited watching Gulliver dunk over the Lilliputians.
