Matt Millen on SportsCenter

I think that's the point of my post. Saying someone should see it is stupid. A murderers parents should have seen it coming and stopped him. A guy that rapes little kids should be seen by the people who are around him everyday.

Fact is, people who do that shit are very good at manipulating others and creating an illusion about themselves.

    Exactly.

If this is true, then the guy is a walking psychopath who lived every minute of his life with the purpose of covering up what a true monster he is. This kind of person cannot be rationalized under normal thought. He is a predator, a manipulator and a violent, violent human who operates without a moral compass.

I thought he basically called Johnny Morton a fag?

Dunno. Can't recall. Maybe he did both.

He did, I posted the link to wikipedia, which never lies.

  • "If we as a society can't protect our kids, we're pathetic."

And what he says about sandusky is really, really scary- known him since 1976, never ever once ever thought anything about him, said he was the great neighbor you loved having, had in in his house, etc.

You can only imagine how many people are now questioning their kids that attended any of those camps, or have ever been around that sick bastard. The most sickening thought for any parent is that these monsters are only caught after the damage is already done to some child.

Not trying to attack Millen, but how are people like him getting such a free pass.

Millen was on the board for the Second Mile charity. JoePa was supposed to know all about Sandusky because he was around the football team every once in a while....what about all the board members and people who worked at Second Mile.

JoePa = football. Second Mile = being around kids all the time.

If anyone should have picked up on this, it's the people watching him with kids as their job.

No, JoePa was supposed to know all about Sandusky bc his GA came up to him and said "hey, your defensive coordinator has a 12 year-old's junk in his mouth"

JoePa: "oh! We'll I'll go tell the AD"

    *nothing happens*

    JoePa: "Welp! Everything's ok then"

  • Just listened to Millen's video. I genuinely feel sorry for the guy, and anyone in a similar situation. Sandusky was a real person in Millen's life - Millen even helped him start the charity that he used to find his victims. If you are Matt Millen, that has to be hard to wrap your head around.

  • Back to Millen's actual interview segment on Sportscenter that they just replayed, I think that he handled the situation quite well. He is obviously in a very difficult place of knowing someone for someone they are not, and having to come to the realization that he has essentially been lied to about whom Sandusky/Paterno are.

He made many strong statements and wants justice to come about from it, which is absolutely right. He is genuinely hurt by this, and I don't blame him one bit. As much as I hated Millen as the Lion's GM, I can feel for the situation he has been put into, especially in the public eye.

Millen broke down speaking about the scandle. Brought to tears speaking about what was to come for Paterno, how people should let the system run it's course, about how he saw Sandusky....Got broken up to the point of saying how he wanted to deal with it (physically )) but that is wrong...about how terrible this is in general/humanity...looke like he had been punched in the stomach...

    Thank you!

this. i never in 100 years would think i would feel sorry or pity for the guy, but watching his emotions play out you can't but help feel for the guy. yea, he ran the lions into the ground, but Ford is just as much to blame as Millen. he was never a quitter, and he always genuinely felt he could turn the lions around.

  • Does anyone else think that Sandusky may have been caught prior to his retirement in the same kind of situation and was asked to "retire"?

  • Just because Millen thought he could be a good NFL GM and someone was foolish enough to give him a high pay , long term contract doesn't reduce the the strong emotional attachments he has for PSU, the community, the football program and Joe Paterno.

He might be a very good Assoc AD at PSU because he has an emotional involvement. When he was with the Lions he was a mercenary.

This isn't something to be made fun of at all.

I am not making fun of him, I am just saying he was extremely emotional and it was something very captivating for noon sportscenter on a Tuesday.

  • Are we sure those weren't tears of joy as Millen realized he is no longer the most incompetent person to come from PSU?
