  • MSU Admin doesn't have much of a choice in the matter. They may have a say, but if the networks want it at noon, it'll be on at noon.

    I'm not sure the networks believe as much in Michigan as the Detroit media would lead you to believe.

  • When I was there for a noon Michigan game, we started at 6am tailgating. What was funny, is everyone else started the night before. You guys can't do this now. So sad.

    Go through the posts in this thread. The common theme is as follows:

    1. There's a need to drink (and drink a lot) on a football Saturday. 2. If the kickoff time of the game makes it inconvenient for these drinking priorities, then said kickoff time sucks.

    And then you guys wonder why the MSU administration gets concerned.

    MSU wants it both ways. They want to take our money but want to restrict everything. Slowly but surely it is reaching a point where people will say, "why bother" as we continue down this path...

  • Works for me. I was afraid we were going to be playing at 6PM and I would only see half the game. This way I get to see the entire game. Assuming it's on TV.

Usually im in the Kalamazoo/Harrison lot, but since i wont be leaving Detroit until 11AM-ish, that will not be an option...hope to arrive in EL at ~12:30 and make it into the game before the second quarter starts....i assume Munn will be full? Structure on Grand River? Any student have a house near campus i can park at? If so i'll bring you quality beer

    You think you're gonna make it to a noon kickoff leaving detroit at 11am??????? You wouldnt make it on a traffic free normal day let alone the biggest home-game of the year with every spartan and white trash walverine heading the same way.

    It depends upon where in the D you're coming from. I've come in late like this before, even for big games, and have actually cruised right in because everyone coming in for the game or to just t/g is already there. I would suggest getting off at Trowbridge and trying to park at one of the lots there. I've done this before at the HoJo lot. It's $10 and a quick walk to the stadium.

  • I got onto campus for the CMU game about.an hour before kickoff. Campus full, GR structure full... GL on the rivalry/biggest home game AFTER kickoff when everyone has parked and settled.

    Prob have a better chance to find parking after the game starts than an hour before for this one. There will be lots of tailgaters not going into the game.

    Okay, I'm as big a Kool-aid drinker as there is on this board and even I don't think this is one of the biggest rivalries in college football. Maybe in the state of Michigan.

    Look, we've dug ourselves a pretty deep hole over the last 20 years. It's going to take time for anyone to think of MSU football as being a top 20 national program (SB crowd on here the exception)... That said, I think we're on our way.

    well it looks like it's still pretty high on the radar for a lot of people nationally...so like i said i think this has nothing to do with espn and everything to do with our school. i said it would be one of the most popular games of the week and i was right. you would have to think espn would know as much as i do.
