Michigan fans are absolutely, positively effing delusional

  • Someone in the Big Ten mail bag on the ESPN blog (a great blog) asked if Michigan could be a national championship-caliber team. Are these people for fucking REAL? I just don't get it. I see this feverishly delusional attitude all over the internets and among my Michigan friends. 11-2!!!!!! BCS!!!!!! And DENARD WILL BE A SENIOR NEXT YEAR!!! BIG BLUE IS BACK, BABY!

    Did they WATCH THAT SUGAR BOWL? Did they take a serious, analytical look at their 2011 schedule and realize they didn't have a single impressive win (MAYBE Nebraska)?? How is this happening? How can they honestly, legitimately think that team is that good? I'm serious!! Explain it to me! I know, I know, this has all been discussed before. But I just don't get it. It's like they've been passing around some form of special Kool-Aid. I can't wait for October.

    They had pretty much the same regular season we had in 2010 capitalizing on an easy schedule, but lost an additional game, had zero wins as impressive as ours over Wisconsin, got a soft touch in an underserved BCS game...

    Yep, world beaters. The 2009 MSU and the 2010 M team were both approx .500 teams.

    It really is just because 'They're Michigan' and are faux entitled to success.

  • Actually, my um family members and I just spoke, and they all feel um can;t ever take the next step with shoelaces at QB because he can't throw. They also remember mattison from the 90s, what he did to um, how he never was that great and left for nd when nd was a heated rival and was basically at um to land the irons kids.

    Dude, don't you know? Being a senior, his 50/50 jump balls will become 60/40 jump balls.

    I love how many people wanted him benched after he lost to us, but after a couple of blind throws in the Sugar Bowl, he's a national championship QB! lol

  • Sadly, they're not the only ones. The B1G bloggers will only say "if they somehow catch Bama napping week 1....maybe they can?" Over at OTE, one of their main writers has scUM pencilled into the MNC in their 2012 preview. There'll only be more of this over the next 6 months.

  • 2011 was a magical season for that football team, they overachieved more than any team in recent history at the college level. Everything fell into place for them to have that season and they avoided all major injuries. They are losing a lot of key players, but what's more important is they do not have any depth to replace them. That team is extremely thin on both lines and at WR and TE they have no one. 6-6, 7-5. Their fans are delusional, I actually read a comment on Mlive from one of them predicted Will Campbell as a 1st team All Big Ten next year, LOL!

    the basketball team there is playing well, but please, they are not going to go to a final 4 any time soon. They do not go deep enough into their bench to have much left in the tank by the end of the year, they will lose 5 out of there next 8 at least.
