Moonrise kingdom

  • A quirky Indy type film that I highly recommend. The older posters like coached by Duffy, Duffy munn, dwags, etc will appreciate this film. Set in 1965 at a boy scout camp in RI. Innocent comedy and well written. Bruce Willis, Edward norton, bill Murray, France's mcdormand.

  • I make it a point to watch every (well, almost every) Edward Norton movie. From the trailer this movie appears to have a Life Aquatic feel to it. I'm not a "movie guy." do you think this movie will still appeal to me?

It's sophisticated and artsy. Something you clearly wouldn't relate too. I suggest folks like you keep it simple. Go see madagascar or some other cartoon.

You make it a point to watch every Edward Norton movie but you're not a 'movie guy'? That's kind of confusing to me.

I watch Ed Norton movies because he is my favorite actor.

As example as to why I'm not a movie guy: I watched No Country for Old Men and There Will Be Blood and didn't enjoy them. I didn't "get it." I also didn't think The Royal Tanenbaums was funny.

A Life Aquatic with Steve Zizsou was an indie movie (I think) with Bill Murray that I didn't think looked particularly interesting from watching the trailers but the critics seemed to love it.

Based on this post you probably won't like Moonrise Kingdom - but Ed Norton is good in it, so if you're a fan you'll likely enjoy his performance.

That's just like your opinion man

  • Not of a fan of ny of what his faces movies. Life Aquatic is the one that I actually did enjoy.

You have not had a reason to go see many movies the last few years then. I am a big Edward Norton fan as well. He has made very few movies in the past 3-4 years.

  • We just got back from seeing Moonrise Kingdom. We liked it a lot. It's a good summer for indy movies. Safety Not Guaranteed was outstanding. Beasts of the Southern Wild is getting great reviews. It won't open in Phoenix until next week.

The fact that you didn't get a reference to The Life Aquatic pretty much verifies you have no room to be critiquing anyone else's movie tastes or intellect.

What I find amazing is you are capable of winning any of your cases. Your fallacious reasoning and attempt to polarize any subject is transparent and laughable. The bench in Florida must be of questionable intelligence.

Why'd I get downvoted for this?

Hard Eight, Boogie Nights, Magnolia and There will be Blood are all objectively more interesting films than anything Wes has done (I did enjoy Rushmore, fwiw)

P.T. is the muddafuckin' man! Below is my favorite scene of 1999 (pardon the Spanish dubbing)

Magnolia - Goodbye Stranger - Supertramp

    I evened out that downvote.

The teaser and the first trailer for The Master look incredible. I'll watch anything with Phillip Seymour Hoffmann, though.

No it shows I happened to not see that particular movie as I was probably in trial during the period it played winning yet another jury verdict. You see I am a Super lawyer in Florida. You on the other hand lack the ability to be objective as you are so blinded by hate, you allow your emotions to dictate your response. In fact, you are hiding behind a schtick to avoid detection. That is the hallmark of an Internet white trash scab coward.

If your posts here are any indication of your legal technique, your MO is to prey on intellectually challenged juries using fallacious reasoning, ad hominem attacks, and polarizing buzzwords. Florida? No wonder you're so successful. It's amusing that an attorney is calling anyone out on being objective, when the entire trial-by-jury system is based on subjectivism.

Fact is, you got butt-hurt when I called you out insulting another poster's cinema intelligence, when you didn't have any idea about one of the most well-known indie films of the last 20 years. The irony is lost on you.

    Buzzword Tally
    1. Objective
    2. Hate
    3. Schtick
    4. White trash
    5. Scab
    6. Coward

    Impressive, sir.

Osmo. Why soooo mad, bro. I steal your lunch money? Did I make you do my homework? Did you hate the fact that the cute girls dated me? Why hide behind a schtick? Are you that much of a maladjusted boner? Look. Drop the weight. Get your teeth fixed and maybe I'll give you the time of day at the nd game. I seriously doubt that will happen.

You see I'm not afraid to post under my original username. You have obviously prefer to hide behind your keyboard and use a message board as a means of getting back at guys like me and ghost. You know, the popular kids that you secretly hate. It's fun to make fun of misfit dweebs like you and spartyon1. You are both cut from the same cloth. Two morbidly obese girly guys with fat wives living in your little three bedroom brick ranch in Livonia.

So. In summation: you may blow me. Your opinions don't matter to me.

Tanny I haven't seen "Moonrise Kingdom" yet - we actually tried to see it a few weeks ago but it was sold out - but come on, you can't come on here and pimp a movie and act like you just discovered Wes Anderson because you saw his latest flick. Dude is an amazing director... but come on, how can you NOT have ever heard of "Life Aquatic"?

I just hadn't. Shit happens. However, I will rent the fucker this week. I never said I just discovered Wes Anderson, I said I liked the movie and thought it was well acted, well written and enjoyable. You and the wife really need to go see it.

Very true. I also wasn't aware he was in the newest Bourne movie. Or that they made Bourne movies without Matt Damon.

Haven't watched which ever Hulk movie he was in. Also stopped The Italian Job after ten minutes.
