  • Its a conspiracy that will bring Wisconsin down just like penn state. The AD and President is involved and it will be the biggest scandal....my i say everrr.
And then, of course, purdue will win the leaders. Im callin it!

But they supposedly didn't take anything else (wallet, jewelry, etc).

I'm not saying the TMZ report about the fight the previous weekend is correct., but there's definitely more to the story than 5 guys just randomly jumping Ball.

SportsCenter reported today that a witness heard one of the five men say, "that's one football player, nine to go."

Must be the 11th string RB.

  • I'd laugh so hard if there was a retaliatory incedent at Sather Hall involving several football players that forces BB to make disciplinary action. The whole "Leaders" division would be such a farce.

If I were Wisconsin, I would start by looking at Purdue, Indiana, and Illinois. With OSU and PSU ineligible they might see this as their one chance to make the conference championship game, and are going to start taking out Wisconsin's best players, one by one.

  • Madison police believe there may have been a "precipitating event" that led to the attack on Wisconsin running back Montee Ball Wednesday morning.

According to the Wisconsin State Journal, Central District Captain Carl Gloede says the police are trying to find out "what the incident was, when and where it happened."

The police are also looking into whether or not Ball or any other Wisconsin football players were involved.

Gloede also said that a witness told the police that one of Ball's assailants said something like "one down, nine to go" suggesting that there are other targets.

As for the TMZ report that Ball was involved in a fight at a player's home before the attack, and that Ball emphatically denied, the police said the incident TMZ reported is "not what we're looking at."

Ball suffered a concussion and had to be treated at a local hospital following the attack. He will miss the start of Wisconsin training camp on Monday due to the concussion.

The Heisman finalist finished the 2011 season with 1,923 rushing yards and 39 total touchdowns for the Badgers.

Where did he get this jewelry and this phone, huh? Methinks there may be something rotten in Madison.

A friend of the family knows a guy who used to wash jocks for the football team, and he told me that there are some mighty shady things going on there.

    this guy?

Just another reason why Ball should have went pro. Had he done so, he would have been in training camp and not getting his butt kicked on the streets of Madison.

No doubt there's more to the story, but I'm not sure we'll ever hear what it is. No way in hell 5 guys just randomly jumped the star player for the hell of it. He pissed someone off, and the TMZ report is plausible.

They should have learned from the example set by the guys who jumped T J Duckett a few years back on the pedestrian bridge outside the Ionia County Free Fair- Largest Free Fair east of the Rockies.

    Blaykezor

  • I willing to bet that ex-Lion great Barry Sanders was involved. MonteeB came very close to breaking Barry's single season TD record and BS didn't want that to happen again.

If that sounds a bit far fetched, perhaps Kirk Cousins did it.

You mean like when 3 white dudes randomly tried to jump TJ Duckett, yeah no way in hell that ever happens.

While I'd also guess there is more to the stroy, sometimes events like can and do happen randomly.

Well, in Ionia, 3 white guys jumping a black guy isn't exactly random. It might be rare due to the infrequency with which black guys visit Ionia, but it's not random. Ionia and Madison couldn't be more different either.

My friend and I were actually jumped at MSU late one night when I was a freshman. Just a bunch of karate dudes that wanted to put their limited training into practice. (They sucked btw, all they landed was the first sucker punch/kick). We didn't report it, but then in the State News the next day, there was about 8 different reports of the same thing happening on the same stretch of road. Makes you wonder when they might send a cop over that way to check things out.

One thing we know for sure: Duckett took care of business, Ball didn't.

  • Apart from the who did what when investigation, the people that jumped Ball have to be complete morons especially if they are students. Apart from legal ramifications, they put their academic standing in jeopardy. Also, they are probably #1 most wanted by Badger fans. Wisconsin fans can get pretty crazy and these idiots jump their Heisman Candidate RB and give him a concussion? They may want to go into hiding.

As for Ball, concussions are serious business these days and they can linger. For a bruising back like Ball who takes a lot of hits this could be bad regardless of what Bielema says about no long term effects. The odds of getting a concussion after having one are also much greater.

    Interesting...

First, it was thought to be an "unprovoked" act.
Then they heard there might have been a fight prior to Ball's attack that may have led to the attack.
Now they are confirming there was a fight.

Do the police honestly think Ball had nothing to do with this, I understand the case is "on going" but I pretty sure five guys weren't sitting around bored and said, "Hey, lets go beat the shit out of one of the football players"

Ball may not have been in the fight, but I'm guessing he did something to motivate five individuals to knock him to the ground and kick him until he is bleeding and had a concussion.

I think there is still a lot of information to be uncovered.
