I like this kid already: just went back and watched the DVR of tonight's game: he's real quick and plays the puck awfully well in terms of helping out his D'. We might really have something here.

I care. Thanks for the info. I need a mask myself, but could never afford pro equipment like the rest of you shooters. Cool to know what he is wearing tho.

Mine is all white, and shows battle scars. Get lots of compliments -- some think it is painted like that. I wish one day a goalie will return to a plain helmet, like Hanlon, and let it reflect all the abuse. No paint or anything. It would look a lot better than cheesy paint jobs.

If you're looking for a solid mask, I'd recommend a brand called Fusion. They're very good (I have one and have taken shots from AHLers with no effects) and are only $400 (compared to the PC which are $1k+ and I cannot afford).

Trust me, sir. Pro's Choice is owned by a guy named Dom who has made his own masks for years. Prior to this year, he didn't have a contract with any big name brand. Vaughn contacted him over the summer and wanted to put their name on his masks, since a lot of Vaughn goalies were using his masks anway. So, now his Pro's Choice masks are branded as Vaughn. He previously, like 8ish years ago, had a similar deal with Bauer. That deal expired and he went back to providing unbranded masks to goalies. Really, it's a Pro's Choice. Trust me.
EDIT: I should also note that Vaughn does make masks but they are not Pro level quality. This happens a lot in the world of goalie masks. Brands will make 3, 4, 5 layups for each shell shape - layup meaning masks consistency (kevlar, fiberglass, plastic) and durability. Vaughn does not make a layup, due to cost, that is suitable for Pro level play. Hence, why they have had Dom put their name on his masks.

So, if he sticks with the big club for a while, does he keep wearing all the stuff with the GR logo on it (helmet, pads, etc) or does he upgrade to some Wings gear?

Hanlon had a painted one at the end. It had a fly (fishing) hook on both sides.

He had a different pair of the same model pads earlier this year in GR that did not have the GR logo, but the regular pad design. My guess is if he sticks, he'll go back to those. Not sure if it would be worth it to spring for some Wings logo'd gear, since he'll probably be sent back to GR once the Monster is back, just on principle.
