Im going to go with the do some stuff for yourself.

I was in a relationship for a while. Then it ended. Luckily I had law school to distract me.
It was initially tough to get over.
Then I just started putting myself out there.
Hanging out with people I hadnt seen in a while. Going to places I wouldnt usually go, and having enough liquid courage to find that Im going to have a good time, but not make an ass of myself level.

I play bass- so I bought a guitar.
I started working out nearly everyday, and started developing a routine.
I spent a good $500 bucks on a new wardrobe.
I worked I studied and had a good time when I had free time to give.

and like that movie swingers- once you forget, doors just start opening.
Once you develop that confidence in you again. It just happens.
I grinded it out for 3 months. It sounds easy - its not .You just do it.
Next thing I knew I was hitting on one girl in my living room, while another girl I invited over was walking up to the door (NOT recommended) and 2 weeks later I was going out with someone entirely different.

It amazes me that someone can be in a relationship for 4 years and not have proposed. Could you really not figure out if she's the one after four fvxking years? Pathetic if you ask me, what a waste of your prime.

Quickest way to get over one-itis is to go out and date others (for some). Almost every girl I know who is out of college for a few years has a profile on match, okcupid, or something else. They're all normal, cool, cute, just want to get away from the douchebags who are looking for a slam piece.

Best thing that ever happened to me was the end of the two-year relationship I was in. And I know we've both gone with similar strategies to cope. Worked out well.

A girl I was with used that same rational Cosmo... gotta find myself bullshit. Granted it wasn't four years but still. You are a better person than she is.

It doesn't make it any easier right now. And the part that sucks is how she seems absolutely content with everything, like it was all a facade. I feel like Woody Allen in "Annie Hall" -- the shark has died and there was no more water to traverse. These things get better over time, but right now it's like ... what the hell just happened?
