    Totally agree.

EA gets away with polishing turds to the public for football because we have no choice.

That, and people like Spartan8Bball who will accept anything with a EA logo on it.

  • The most fun baseball game ever is The Bigs 2.

Baseball is so gd boring and this game actually made it fun.

  • And to piggyback off of what I said about NCAA Hoops, the developers at 2K got major heat from their fans about messed up courts and stadiums. 1 week after launch, the development team of College Hoops 2K4 promised to have accurate courts for all D1 teams that were in the game and all stadiums they could fit in, including the NCAA Tourney stadiums. They delivered so well that the NCAA stepped in and told the development team not to include authentic NBA Courts in College Hoops 2K5. It was a awesome site to see play a college game on the Milwaukee Bucks court.

  • There are 120 division 1 football teams. EA could hire SpartanRockey to enter in the information for each team and he would have accurate ratings for every player on every team in less than 12 weeks.

You have to pick your poison. It's non stop year around process. I do think they could hire more people. It's hard to find talent in that job field.

I agree that 85-man roster should be in the game. EA doesn't have the time to make every roster perfect. It doesn't help that every past player is suing EA for using their "likeness". The motion sets alone would blow Fifa away. Football is alot harder to capture. Soccer game, too funny.

Half of the disk is team rosters, jerzeys, and stadiums. The new console will vastly improve sports titles.

Right, the robust set of animations. That's why the running styles still look horribly awkward (yet somehow EA got it right on the previous generation), and why every tackle looks the same.

I'd argue that soccer is far, far more difficult to capture than football. Same number of players, but the game constantly flows, rather than existing in five-second chunks of heavily-scripted plays. Possession is always changing, ball physics actually matter, and there are literally an infinite number of ways a player can receive a ball. Yet I've rarely, if ever, seen a FIFA player inexplicably moonwalk to the sideline, or seen all 11 offensive players having seizures on top of the ball (custom playbook glitch), or seen a defender just plain freeze mid-animation. I could fire up NCAA 12 and see one of those glitches happen within five minutes.

Bethesda somehow managed to get all of friggin' Skyrim on a single XBox disc, but half of NCAA 12 is rosters, jerseys, and stadiums?

This was something I'd been clamoring for from sports games for a while, and EA finally did it, albeit on a shitty game.

Wish other sports games would try to replicate this. It'd be easiest for Madden.

ya that was a really awesome feature. That and the ability to build up a small school. I started my dynasty at SMU and you get challenge point for things like beating rivals, winning the NCAA/making a FF or winning a big time game on national TV. You could only get like 3-4 per season. But you could use those to upgrade your gym, dorms, streets, stadium, library and such. These would effect your rankings in facilities, academics, environment, stuff like that. Fans have been begging EA to put something like that into NCAA football. Instead we get a lame ass attempt at coaching changes.

I think my favorite thing from last year was they made a HUGE deal about "realistic pylon physics!"... meaning if you hit a pylon it will fall over.

They can't fix superman plays, LB's jumping 6 feet into the air to INT a ball. QB's being sacked and throwing a 50 yard bomb on target with no wobble while the QB is being sacked. They can't fix having Olinemen just stand there instead of blocking, or having a guard run right by a LB so that he can get 10 yards down field to block a safety. Recruiting still sucks. I hate the random dial of topics thing. Commentary has been bad for years. They can't fix officials, you either have 0 calls ever or you have to set the dials manually and they call a penalty every other play. Official reviews gets things wrong so often its pathetic. Like having a WR catch a ball and land 4 feet out of bounds but have it ruled a catch.

There are tons of things they need to fix, tons of things fans have asked for. Instead we'll get 1-2 new lines of commentary, trophy presentations and marching bands.

the sad part is the marching band thing is something people have been asking for. Boggles my mind. It's like EA goes through their forums and reads the things people want. People for some dumb shit reason instead of putting "fix all the broken shit" put "give us marching bands!!11!"

I wont be buying it this year until it's been out a bit and i've had a chance to rent it or get friends feedback.

Yup. THen again you have a lot of fans that are clamoring for EA to include FCS schools as well which would be a huge headache (they currently have them in the game but people want the actual names of those schools put in with realistic rosters and such)

Fixed, since penalties that actually matter, like pass interference, are non-existent.

And what about special teams? The punt coverage/return/block logic has been awful for years.

  • Maybe I don't understand all the dynamics inside EA, but why can't the Madden gameplay just be copied and used inside NCAA? Then you would get synergies out of the gameplay developers with some tweaks for each version to account for rule differences, and each game could have a development group for the stuff around the game (player ratings, dynasty, recruiting/drafting, stadiums/jerseys).

  • The Voters Have Spoken: EA Is Your Worst Company In America For 2012! - The Consumerist

Whether it's on a console, a PC, a smartphone or tablet, hundreds of millions of people play video games every day. Yet most mainstream media covers the industry the same way it treats adult dodge ball leagues and cat fashion shows (both noble ventures, but neither of them multi-billion dollar industries). And the only time you hear legislators discuss video games is when some politician decries them as the death knell for all things righteous in the world (hint: they're not). Now, after years of being ignored and relegated to steerage, game-players have voted to send a message to Electronic...

To be honest EA has way too many projects going on. I would like to see them scale back. I agree that 2K should get NCAA BBALL. I think EA could do a better job. You can't change the entire game in 8 months. People expect a new game every July, it really dampers any big change in the series. I honestly think it should come out every other year. It would give them time to make changes and fix the problems. It's all about money and they would never do that.

If you get it right, then you can add and experiment with features. 2K got the gameplay and important cosmetics right first with several of their titles before tweaking features. It isn't that hard to do. If one developer can do it, most should be able to do it.

You do realize "EA" is just a publishing brand right?

The actual development studios are numerous and well staffed. Their dropping the ball on development is a poor reflection on EA and the development house.

  • There's a new MSU image out, per EA's Facebook page.

The good news? The uniform green is now right. The bad news? The helmets are still metallic, and therefore wrong.

Regardless, an improvement. Still some time to get it 100 percent correct.
