NW, iowa, nor PSU are going to beat NU

  • We need to root for the skunks. um is on the road twice, (iowa, illinois), before coming home to play NU.

iowa has um at home before our game, it'd be nice if they'd win that one so they're not desperate.

  • PSU definitely has a chance, their D is legit. Also, NEB's weakness is the middle and as long as they actually use Reed and try to take advantage of that they could win.

This. You guys are not thinking this through. Nebraska is a very good team at home, but very, very average on the road.

PSU has a great chance to beat Neb at home, because they have a really good defense, and they have a really good running game with Silas Redd to exploit Nebraska.

I would be absolutely shocked if Neb wins at UM AND at PSU. Hell, They could easily lose both of those games.

Now, regarding Iowa, after losing to Minny, they said bye bye to contention in the Legends. If UM gets them this week, they won't have anything to paly for when we roll to town, and could make the game easier.

I don't think they're going to be able to score enough points.

If both Michigan State and Michigan win out, and Michigan State were to lose to Wisconsin in the B1G championship game, Michigan finishes 11-1. Michigan State finishes 11-2. Who goes to the better bowl?

2 losses plus loss to Wisky equals 2 losses?

  • Keep in mind, before this game, Neb had an off week and a scrimmage against a HS team (Minn) to get themselves right.

We banged the crap out of them as much as they did us, it was a very physical game. They went down another corner, their massive OT twisted his ankle and I believe it was their center went out at the end of the game.

Now, NW will test them, watch both QBs gain over 150 on the ground between them. Iowa will pound at them. And PSU will bang them. Lots of wear and tear and challenges for them.

  • Also, um & PSU will not force it and will take what the D gives them.

Dude, they'll be playing a top 20 team. They'll have something to play for.

Some would argue we've been a better road team than home team. At least in past seasons under Pelini. We have had a number of let down games at home(Texas, Iowa State), only to surprise people on the road (Washington, Oklahoma State).

This year doesn't seem to hold to that. Home blowout of #11 MSU, road blowout to top-ten (don't remember exact ranking) Badgers.

  • there's a reason why i'm not rooting for UofM until absolutely necessary

11/12 will be a big day in the Big Ten, and we should learn a lot more about our fate on that day.

Right now, UofM has a decent shot to go to a better bowl game than us, and we all know how much that would suck.

If PSU doesn't have a MORON for an offensive coordinator like we do, Silas Redd will carry that team and keep them in the game. Nebraska is vulnerable against the run and they have a very, very good defense.

Personally, I am hoping Michigan loses to Iowa next week so the idea of them going to a better bowl game loses a little bit of steam.

  • Martinez will not last the year. Could be a blessing in disguise for the Huskers. They for sure lose once more and prob twice more. I saw nothing that impressed yesterday with that shitty offense of theirs.

  • I think both PSU and NW can. Don't be fooled about how MSUs O made Nebraska look so good.

This isn't the same. Last year was the 4th game in conference play for the Hawks, and MSU was a rally type game for the, after losing a hard battle to Whisky. Iowa only had one conference loss and was still playing for a title. It wasn't until they blew it later in the year to NW.

Now, MSU is getting them later in the year, and it appears Iowa is out of contention now. Iowa plays UM and then us back to back. This Iowa team is also nowhere near last year's team. Iowa's defense is very average, their QB isn't as steady as Stanzi was.

However, I don't have much confidence in MSU to go into a hostile place and win, but this Iowa team just simply isn't that good. Bottom line is, if MSU wants to win the Legends, they need to win a tough road game. We can always pray Nebraska loses two more games, and UM and Iowa lose one more so a 6-2 MSU team could backdoor it's way to Indy. cool

Keep in mind, our D showed up to play. It was not a total team collapse, it was complete boneheaded play calling.

NW will gash Neb...with the QB run. And when Neb creeps up people in coverage, their QBs will run right to the line, and then hit a quick throw to a wide-open WR. Of course, Neb will probably score every time they have the ball too. I am willing to bet they don't let martinez throw more than 10 times.

PSU- they play sound ball, they will take what is given on O, and they have a legit D.

um's run game- they could well torch Neb.

Also, do remember, Neb is even more banged up. We put 2 OL and a DB out yesterday (and they returned the favor on several of our players). They already had crick, the back-up dt and and db out. That is a banged-up unit that is heading into their key stretch.

  • Both PSU and Michigan have a good shot of beating Nebraska. People get caught up in the moment so easily and forget that different teams tend to show up from week to week. Not everybody is Bama and LSU.

Home field advantage is such a huge deal in college football, and NU plays their two toughest games left on the road. I still think we have the inside track to Indy.

  • Happy Valley is a hard place to win, and they have a bye week to help rest and prepare for Nebraska. PSU has the best chance to beat them.

Damn, dog...you're really pushing hard for UM there. They have a better chance of beating UM than they do Penn State.

This isn't the first time you've come on here to post about wanting everyone to root for um.

  • Nebraska is a good team, but they still have to earn a conference road win before they can make it to Indy (@ Minn doesn't count). I just hope that if the Huskers do stumble, it is at Penn State. I don't want any part of me to pull for the skunks in that Nebraska/scUM game.
