OT: A Mining Rush in the Upper Peninsula

  • Thought some of you might be interested in this.

"Dug in the 1950s, the shaft was briefly active when copper-bearing rocks were discovered there. Sixty years later, Mr. Jacques is tasked with finishing the job by digging a new mine 900 feet down.

“From my perspective, it’s a once in a lifetime opportunity,” said Mr. Jacques, who works for a subsidiary of Orvana Minerals, a Canadian-based mining company.

This remote area of Michigan, long ago left for dead, is rediscovering its mining roots — raising hopes here and across much of the Lake Superior region that a mining revival is in the making. With copper and other metals trading on commodities markets at consistently high prices, companies are digging into long-neglected deposits for metals that could be worth billions of dollars. "

Well, since Coolcat62 nor Goodbar have answered your question, both widely accepted experts on the subject matter, I shall try my best.

Do not underestimate the magnitude of the paradigm within a paradigm that exemplifies the symbiotic relationship between downriggers and the spur theory. To do so would be foolish.

I play basketball with a guy who consults for Orvana. Everything he's ever mentioned about Orvana's plans for the western end of the U.P. have been very optimistic.

    Thank you my Good Sir!

Mining is like a Wright Brother. They were the first to fly.

Often times the Runt of the pack turns into the alpha male. Often times it dies at a young age.

If we can take anything from Spur Theory we should KNOW that mining will create a population explosion that could result in the Downriggers and Batmen to take over Indian Lake.

Exactly! Everyone knows that Bigfoot doesn't pay taxes.

The influx of Batmen and the like, exclusively due to Downriggers, will be catastrophic and eat the entire infrastructure as if it were swallowed by a worm hole.

Where's goodbar? Maybe he can talk some sense into the rest...
