I don't normally agree with you, Cosmo, but the gravestone scene in Forrest Gump gets me every time. I lost my mom when I was young and that really hits home.
Also, to stick with the Pixar theme, the scene when EVE repairs WALL-E on Earth and he appears to have lost his memory is brutal.
What is that, a Titleist? A hole in one...

I'm sure there will be some jeers and hilarious answers to this question, but the "best actor roles" thread got me thinking, which movie scenes get you "choked up" ? (insert Deep Throat comment here)
I'll be a man and admit the following scenes: * Glory - when the 54th regiment marches onto the beach to lead the attack on Fort Wagner. * October Sky - two scenes, when the "Rocketboys" win 1st place in the National Science Competition and when he shoots off the last rocket and his hard-nosed father shows up.
I am afraid that the whole world is closer to moral foreclosure.

I'll admit I can get choked up rather easily but for me its the end of Rudy "who's the wild man now" staying with the sports theme in the The rookie of the year - the one with Dennis Quaid as a high school baseball coach - When he calls his son to tell him he's going to the majors
