I don't know what I would do if I lost Olive Garden

Those are middle class restaurants, and middle class people are struggling right now. It's not rocket surgery.

Especially if they would add a ladle of alfredo sauce to your bag for $2.99.

The Meridian Malls proximity has to help tons for that place..plus it seems a little smaller from what I recall

It's fast food though, does that really count? Maybe I don't know what middle class means but I honestly can't imagine anyone I know ever eating there unless they were traveling and there are no other options.

A big part of Darden's issue is that while they run comps year to year, they think they will eventually get back to 2003-2007 level of business, which is a pipe dream. That's due in part to natural erosion/new competition and in part to the economic issues affecting their customer base. I was in property development during their boom days, and they basicaly just printed money. $5 million a year in sales for their regional mall locations was not uncommon, which is huge money.

I have a feeling you think being middle class means you drive a 2007 M5 instead of a new one.
