I was at a 10... I hated my boss he had little man syndrome or a napoleonic complex. Whatever you want to call it the guy was a total piece of shit. I'm in construction, and he couldn't even say hello to you when he came out to the project. He was based out of Pittsburgh, and the job I was running was near Philly.

I didn't hate the job, I just hated him, and a few select individuals in my region, who were complete kiss asses. All they were concerned about was climbing the corporate ladder. They would partially do their jobs all the time we're trying to build a 150,000,000 dollar job, and it's like pulling teeth trying to get some cooperation.

My review last March was hilarious. I'm sitting in my office and my boss didn't even have the balls to confront me in person as to what I wrote about him, the job staff, and his lackies. He in fact sent one of his lackies in place of himself and hid in Pittsburgh, trying to conduct my review over the phone.

This shit had been going on for about 3 years. I agreed with him that I had a bad attitude, we parted ways, and I took my compensation package and ran. I was out of work for ten months.

Best decision I ever made. I left a mid 6 figure salaried job, company truck, and a bonus. Money isn't everything. I found a new job a month ago and things are great.

Hours are way relaxed, people are cool etc

Sometimes you just need to regress in order to advance.

I have a coworker who:
Lies to get out of trouble even if it means dragging you under the bus with him
Every so often slams 4-5 beers at lunch, then denies ever doing such a thing (see above)
Takes two hour naps in storage room (see No. 1)
If you call him out on his BS, he calls you a "little bitch" or changes the subject
Blows up if you criticize any of his work
Spends 25% of his day criticizing everyone's work in the organization
Spends 25% of his day gossiping, looking up blogs, twitter feeds, and criminal records on coworkers
Sucks up to superiors in the most disgusting way
Every month claims to get job offers for 50% more but turns it down because he likes the job
Spends at least 15 minutes a day talking about how much he hates the organization and can't wait to get out

None of this I would care about if the person wasn't my boss' favorite and go-to guy.

Whoa, hold on there Johnny B a bitch. I only 'slam' 2-3 beers at lunch and only on days I only spend LESS than 15 minutes bitching about how much I hate the organization. Get your facts straight. And what's the problem with looking up criminal records? You want to work with a bunch of hoodlums? BTW, you might want to pay off those parking tickets...

Be careful what you post on here. Betcha didn't know I also post on here. So in your honor, I will start parking in the handicap spot and blame you. Nice working with you.

I would say a 1. I do have some ownership in the company but even outside of that - I love what I do. Entrepreneurial setting and my "boss" is more of a coach and basically supports anything you want to do as long as it makes sense and will eventually make money. Been in this situation now for 7 years and sometimes I even feel guilty collecting a paycheck - feels like I'm playing monopoly sometimes and getting paid for it.

This...I have been in Transportation/Logistics for over thirty years. Sold my trucking company 10 years ago and moved back home to Lansing. Found a nice little gig in middle management, have a great boss and most of my employees are good workers. Don't make near the $$$ I used to but life is much better now.

A co-worker is a straight up every day pain in the ass! Constantly day in and day out nasty to customers and the people around her.
So amazed she is still employed at the company.

set her up....friend or relative poses as a customer, nabs here being bitchy on their iphone and send it to corporate: repeatedly until she's canned....your life becomes better: unless of course her replacement is worse.
