One more political call and I'm going to explode

yeah, I would probably not disagree with a lot of what he says. But the fanboys drive me up the wall. And the one here in the office was on the Obama bandwagon for the last election "But he let me down. He didnt do all of the things he promised he would do"

I said "you are new to politics, right?"

lol Wow if people are disappointed now then they really are going to be if he gets re-elected. The State of the Union speech would be impossible to fulfill. lol Cutting the Budget and increasing spending..... that always works. facepalm_msu

He was going on and on and on about "he said he was going to bring the troops home. . . . and its been xx number of months and the troops are still over there. I asked him if he knew anything about National Security, Troop Deployment logistics, etc. and explained to him that you dont just become president and the next day all of the troops are back on US land. He moved on to another subject, and I shot that down also.

Im not a political genius, but sometimes I wonder just where people get their information from. Some of the crap that fall out of this guys mouth just baffles me. Seriously ignorant.

I have a coworker, sitting on the other side of a brick wall from me, that turns every phone call into a political conversation. He listens to YouTube videos from speeches and campaign ads, and debates ALL DAY. He regularly will turn a visit from the maintenance guy into an hour and a half political conversation. He wears his Vote For Ron Paul button on his shirt every day, and his car is plastered with RP bumperstickers.

EFF RON PAUL!! seriously tired of listening to this shit.

oh, and the night after the big rally in Nashville. . . sigh. . it is all he talked about. And then he went to the new indoor flea market last weekend and handed out brochures. turrible.

I suggest that you never visit Washington DC. I'm not sure if the young professional crowd there is capable of keeping politics out of any conversation.

Haha, it's really tough to segue from some argument about the national debt into trying to get into a girl's panties.

Just ask her "Who do you work for? And what issues do you handle?" And sprinkle in how interesting, complicated and important "X Policy (preferably what 'issues she says she handles') is" Always use "work" even if you know they're an intern. Implying that their non-extremely poor paying job stuffing envelopes, answering retarded and angry letters/phone calls with generic and meaningless responses constitutes real work or has some degree of importance will get them soaking through that JCrew pant suit faster than Mitt Romney can identify a car by a picture of its quarter panel.

The one quality that all women and like 90% of men under 30 in DC share is completely off-the-reservation self-imporance and delusions of granduer. Prey on that.

That is one of the reasons I turned down a job there a few years ago. If I wanted to talk about politics at work, I would work in politics.

I dont mind the occasional political discussion. I dont even mind when someone has their head buried on a subject and is willing to debate it with me. I dont even mind finding out that Im wrong on a political subject (but that is rare, because I dont debate something if there is much of a chance of me being wrong, hence: the reason why I am not an insufferable political douche)

anyways. If I wanted that shit I would move to DC. This guy would be tolerable if he did his job once in a while, and was honest on his timesheet about how much he worked during the day. And if he had a political opinion that had any common sense behind it.

sigh. I could go on and on. Not worth it, cause Im at work and every moment I spend on the board debating shit I make up at the end of the day so I can fill out my timesheet honestly!!

  • Y'all got nothing with tRomster.

Here in tCommonwealth the 1-gun/month bill repeal is spooling 4-5 calls/day for me, mostly with issues from elsewhere in the NE like NY.

  • I average about 2-3 Romney calls per days. It will be interesting on Tuesday to see if someone like Ron Paul benefits from a backlash.

I thought 9 P.M. was the cutoff at least for telemarketers and the like. Unless the polticians have found a loophole in those laws as well.

It's 9. Unfortunately, I'm guilty of being one of these annoying people (but I don't work for any candidate) I work for Mitchell research in EL and all we do is political surveys from 5-9.
