Open letter to the IZZONE

  • Everyone has an opinion of the IZZONE. I am no different. I do happen to think that this year you have done our program well. However, tomorrow night is your time to shine. The eyes of the state of Michigan and the rest of the college basketball world will be on the game to tomorrow night.

    Quick, right this second, send a text to all of your contacts that reads..."tomorrow night between the hours of 9 and 1115 PM I will be unavailable. Please know that I will not be checking my messages nor sending any during that time. If you need me and its and emergency, well then, you better drive to the Breslin Center and pull me directly from my seat as I will be there in all glory rooting on my Spartans"

    Believe it or not IZZONE, you have a direct effect on to tomorrow nights outcome. Your energy, spirit, and passion will directly effect our opponents heart rate, breathing pattern, and decision making ability while at the same time boosting the chemicals and hormones of our own team to produce energy and adrenaline.

    Do whatever you need to do to get ready for tomorrow night and don't worry about the green seaters. We're old, generally miserable and worried about kids, jobs, mortgages, and 401k. You are college students attending one of the best universities in the county. All you need to worry about is getting laid, where the cheapest beer can be had, and getting to some classes on time.

    Think of all this team has sacrificed to be in this position. Guys like Dawson, Payne, Nix, Appling, Trice, Harris, and yes Byrd, have all put everything on the line to try and win a B1G title and remain what everyone knows is the truth...that MSU is still the premier program in this league.

    Bring it IZZONE. Show asshats like Mitch, Stoney, ESPN hacks and the countless know- nothing -all - of - a - sudden - I'm a Michigan hoops fan that in order to slay the dragon, you have to do so in ts own house.

    I have a feeling we are more physical than the other team, and if the refs start calling the shit fouls, they need to be put in their place without mercy. You can make a difference!!

  • I give the the kids credit. My Vietnamese daughter will be there tomorrow night and has said there are IZZONE members already camping out tonight at the Bres to be in line for the game tomorrow

    Also, if UM gets a lead, hits a few threes, things start looking bad for us... THIS is the time we need you start yelling your ass off. If fellow students aren't going crazy at any point, call them out, get them into it, do whatever it takes.

    You guys can whine about the green seaters all you want, but the IZZONE is what will matter. If you guys are rocking, the rest of the Breslin will follow suit.

    We're all counting on you.

  • The students will be fine. The green seaters need to make some noise. That's the difference with the crowds at Indiana this year...their student section isn't as strong as the Izzone, but EVERYONE ELSE is into the game and raising the decibel level.

  • Graduated last year, just bought an Izzone ticket for a little reunion game. Everything I have heard is that the average member is getting there between 4-5. In my four years the earliest was about 3 hours early. You can judge the hype based on the line before the game.

    I think this will be the loudest game in Breslin Center history.
