IF last year's youth movement and new juco's pay off and we START improved, with a set QB/offense, we can win the first 4:

    Indiana State
    at UMass
    Ball State
    off date
    at NW

If we do, it makes the MSU game a real bellweather of "how much" improvement there has been.

They return their top 19 of 22 on defense. They have their best back returning. They lost some receivers, and they lost a 3 year starter in Cousins. Maxwell - the likely starter, has 50-ish game snaps, but they play 5 games before us, and play Ahia State the week before. Their next 4 are Iowa, at Michigan, at Wisconsin, Nebraska. They played us late November last year, after we had fallen apart and thumped us 55-3.

Its a trap game for them, and a HUGE opportunity for us. If we click in our first 4 - I'll be unable to eat the week before this game.

Beat MSU and start 5-0, and ITS ON.

MSU will be vulnerable. Nichols is not cousins. Cousins was very good at not turning the ball over. Nichols who knows. Key will be stopping run.

Got to appreciate a rivalry where the opponent doesn't know who the starting quarterback is. lol

  • Very true statement:
    "Nichols is not Cousins."

Neither is Maxwell I suppose, but he's going to put up huge numbers in the battle for the old Brass Spitoon.

    64-29 td to INT.

So no, you didn't watch him throw lots of picks.

    It's a club sport there.

And there were GAMES HE LOST WITH THE PICKS. I'm not saying he was awful, Im saying he did turn over the ball and there were games he lost for MSU. I'm really looking forward to seeing Maxwell, hope he can come in and build on what Cousins started. Dont hate me for pointing out the flaws I just see a BRIGHT FUTURE AT QB and hope to see a more mobile QB.

    Wow facepalm_msu

You do realize the best QBs on the planet, of which KC is not one, throw picks, right.

Brees had 6 games last year with multiple INTs, Brady had 4.

You've got Kirk with 2, granted fewer games, that were both wins. Since we played defense, you got a 3-1 record in games he threw multiple picks.

Re-watch the Georgia game. Kirk almost lost that game several times with really dumb passes that were almost intercepted. He was a great qb for MSU but did have some flaws.

Refresh my memory didn't he lead a 2 minute drive to tie that game, which was eventually won. But yeah, almost.

And how many "almost" picks did the Lions drop in the playoffs thrown by Brees.

My response was directed at the notion that KC threw some abnormal level of INTs and it was the reason we lost, which pretty clearly is not the case.
