Couldn't it work too with this scenario:

    1. UM loses to Nebraska (UM 3-1, Nebraska 3-1)
    2. Iowa loses @ IU (Iowa 2-3)
    3. MSU beats Nebraska (MSU 3-3, Nebraska 3-2)
    4. Nebraska loses to Penn State (Nebraska 3-3)
    5. UM loses to Northwestern (UM 4-2, Northwestern 4-2)
    6. MSU beats Northwestern (MSU 4-3, Northwestern 4-3)
    7. Iowa loses @ UM (Iowa 3-4, UM 5-2)
    8. Iowa loses to Nebraska (Iowa 3-5, Nebraska 5-3)
    9. MSU wins @ Minnesota (MSU 5-3)
    10. UM loses @ Ohio State (UM 5-3)
    11. Northwestern beats Illinois (Northwestern 5-3)

Would that scenario work?? Four-way tie and MSU is 2-1 against the three, Nebraska is 2-1 against the three, UM is 1-2 against the three. Northwestern is 1-2 against the three.

MSU has tiebreaker against UNL head-to-head? 8-4 (5-3) could get us to Indy to replay Wisconsin again

Seems like there are so many ways this could happen it's practically a sure thing.

It's all over now baby blue!

It'd be a lot simpler if Michigan lost to Iowa or Minnesota in addition to the needed losses to NW and OSU, but I think you're right!

According to the B1G's site ...

If three or more teams are tied, steps 1 through 7 will be followed until a determination is made. If only two teams remain tied after any step, the winner of the game between the two tied teams shall be the representative.
The records of the three tied teams will be compared against each other
The records of the three tied teams will be compared within their division
The records of the three teams will be compared against the next highest placed teams in their division in order of finish (4, 5, and 6)
    The records of the three teams will be compared against all common conference opponents;
The highest ranked team in the first Bowl Championship Series Poll following the completion of Big Ten regular season conference play shall be the representative in the Big Ten Championship Game, unless the two highest ranked tied teams are ranked within one spot of each other in the BCS poll. In this case, the head-to-head results of the top two ranked tied teams shall determine the representative in the Big Ten Championship
The team with the best overall winning percentage [excluding exempted games] shall be the representative
The representative will be chosen by random draw.

  • I believe that the tie breaker at that point is overall record, in which us in UNL would have the same overall record, I don't know what the next tie break scenario is. The best would be if UM has 4 losses. And we are tied with NW and Neb. We would have head to head tie break over both of them. Wishful thinking

    kcspartans10

  • How funny would it be if we got screwed out of a Rose Bowl 2 years ago, then kind of screwed last year due to new rules plus screwed ourselves at the end, but then all this shit happens this year and we end up going?

Or more likely everything will happen except the final thing that needs to happen. Or we will make it to the Big Ten title game and lose again.

If there is a multi-way tie you go until you're down to two teams (or one). Then you go back to head to head.

  • Agenda for next week.

MInny doesn't HAVE to beat UM, but if they pull it off the odds of this happening increase x1234222343

Same thing with Indiana beating Iowa, I have more faith in IU @bloomington than Purdoo @ Kinnick though.

    NW is off

    BEAT NEBRASKA, obviously.

There's still options, but go Hoosiers and Gophers!

UM could lose to anyone in the conference if Denard is out for any sort of time.

Yeah, that's what I meant when I said same thing with IU and Iowa. I think IU has a better chance of beating Iowa at home than Purdue does at Kinnick though. Purdue looks like the worst team in the conference.

IU played MSU and OSU very close and stomped ILLY. shrug Iowa looks really bad when they're not in SS.

Iowa's going to end up being 3-5 in the conference.

I don't think Indiana is really that bad at all to be honest with you. Played us, NU and OSU very tough, won a couple games in non-con big. Lost a couple of brutal heart-breakers including 31-30 @ Navy last week.

They play hard every week and got a convincing road win yesterday. I know Illinois is awful, but IU has a shot to get bowl-eligible if they beat Iowa. They'd be at 4-5 with some winnable games left. That Houston RB they have is a stud.

    Indiana wins next week 28-21.

    We win out

UM loses to OSU, Nebraska, Minnesota and NW

Iowa loses to Ped St, IU, Purdue, NW

Nebraska loses to MSU, Ped St, Purdue

NW loses to MSU, we win tie breaker

    Win in Indy

    Piece of cake

GOALS, THEY'RE IN FRONT OF US.

    It's actually less than that.

Iowa only needs to lose 3 more games.

Neb has to lose to us and one other team (we would own breaker)

UM needs to lose 3 more

NW has to lose to us and one other game
